The NFL is finally back! It only feels like a couple of months ago that we saw the Chiefs win a down-to-the-wire Super Bowl victory against the 49ers. We also get a rematch of a classic playoff match from last season. Let’s get into this borderline rivalry game!

I am sure most people have heard all month how great Lamar Jackson is ATS as an underdog, but there are also great numbers ATS with taking Patrick Mahomes as a favorite by 3 points or less. I will repeat it once again: I am not a trend bettor, nor do I work it into my handicap. Like the situation we have today, there are trends to support anyone’s opinion.

This game does start at the QB position between two of the best in the game, but there are some new and interesting faces on both sides. Derrick Henry will be in purple and black this season, looking to be the missing ingredient for Baltimore. Will that matter? The Chiefs’ run defense stopped the Ravens last year in the playoffs. KC will not have Willie Gay or L’Jarius Sneed, but there is still plenty of young talent on the roster.

Not only are both offenses great, but so are the defenses. Turnovers will play a huge role in this game, just as they did last year in the playoffs. Who flinches first? Whichever team does will most likely lose.

Call it what it is, but I love taking Patrick Mahomes at home laying a field goal or less. It’s hard to pass up on that. The last time these two teams met, the Chiefs destroyed the Ravens. There might be a little bit of revenge on the mind of Baltimore, but KC is always locked in. KC did lose last year to open the season against the Lions by one point. I like the way Chiefs DC Steve Spagnuolo schemes for the Ravens. It really is such an advantage. He has Lamar Jackson figured out every time he faces them. Yes, the Chiefs have Patrick Mahomes and so many weapons to work with, but Spags and the defense are what I am relying on most.
