The Florida Swing kicks off in style this week as the Cognizant Classic descends upon the picturesque greens of PGA National. With anticipation building and clubs at the ready, golf aficionados are in for a thrilling weekend of birdies, eagles, and unforgettable moments. This year, there is a $9 million purse, with $1.62 million going to the winner and 500 FedEx points.

We finally had our breakout tournament last weekend, winning 12.5 units and getting us back on the right track.

The Field:

Expect to see seasoned pros like Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry, and Chris Kirk battling it out. Kirk is the returning champion from last season. Be sure to keep an eye on the rising talents—the young guns eager to make their mark. Some other favorites to win the tournament are: Cameron Young, Russell Henley, and Tom Kim. Last year’s runner-up, Eric Cole, will also be in the field.

Last week’s winner and the third rookie to win this season, Jake Knapp, will be in the field this weekend. Additionally, last week’s runner-up, Sami Valimaki, will also compete after earning the #1 spot in the Aon Swing 5 standings. Notably, Shane Lowry has finished in the top five in the last two Cognizant Classics.

The Course:

The Champion Course is no walk in the park. It’s a demanding layout that tests every facet of a golfer’s game. From the treacherous Bear Trap (holes 15 to 17) to the undulating greens, players must strategize wisely. Precision off the tee and nerve-shredding putts will separate the contenders from the pretenders. The fairways don’t discriminate; they reward skill, determination, and nerves of steel. Additionally, hole 10 will play as a par 5. The course itself is a par 71, spanning 7,147 yards.
