College Baseball: Super Regionals Saturday
College World Series Futures (link)
We have made it to NCAA Tournament Super Regionals where we will be previewing all of the Supers giving as much information as possible. We will have wagers throughout the weekend and futures plays for the World Series. Our wagers are betting 1 unit to win x and for baseball we do not go lower than -165. This is a steep price but there are opportunities where the number should be -200 so this is why that is our limit. On the games where we have a ML and RL bet you can always choose whichever price is best for you rather than playing both. Check out our home page where all the regional handicaps will be daily.
College Baseball Supers Record: (+2.34 units)
11:00am cst: Alabama Crimson Tide vs. Wake Forest Demon Deacons
No play on this game. No lines are up due to Alabama and the ex coach who gambled on games earlier in the season. Wake Forest’s first real test against an SEC school.
Pick: None
11:00pm cst: Virginia Cavaliers (-185) vs. Duke Blue Devils (+150)
Just as we expected, the Dule Blue Devil pitching came through for them. Duke started a freshman and he was great to start the game. UVA offense showed up but it was the pitching that Duke took advantage of. This will be another coin flip game I feel but the price on Duke is something we cannot pass up. I still believe Duke is the better team because of its pitching staff.
Pick: Duke (+150)
2:00pm cst: Kentucky Wildcats (+215) vs. LSU Tigers (-270)
Kentucky had a very up and down regional in Lexington. LSU has reached its full potential I believe, which is scary for every other team that is left in the field. The price on LSU is correct here. LSU defeated Kentucky in Baton Rouge 2/3 times and both were by more than 1 run. That is where I’m going.
Pick: LSU -2.5 (-105)
2:00pm cst: Tennessee Volunteers (-180) vs. Southern Miss. Golden Eagles (+145)
There has been so much trash talk going on between both of these schools. It started when Southern Miss was awarded to host the super regional. I agree with the decision based on season results. Southern Miss was (+115) all day and then Tennessee received massive steam. We have talked about how good Tennessee looks flying under the radar but let’s not forget they only had to play Clemson once and played Charlotte twice. I like the Golden Eagles in the series and this game.
Pick: Southern Miss (+145)
2:00pm cst: Florida Gators (-145) vs. South Carolina Gamecocks (+115)
This is the same handicap as last night except we are getting it at a discounted price. This Florida team has hit its stride after the loss to Texas Tech. South Carolina is finally stepping up in competition after a soft home regional. Florida will have an ace ready to go tomorrow and I expect the Gators to finish off the ‘Cocks and advance.
Pick: Florida (-145)
5:00pm cst: Texas Longhorns (-150) vs. Stanford Cardinal (+120)
This should be a great matchup. I am assuming Texas will be starting Lucas Gordon who should be off 7 days rest and ready to go. Stanford will attempt to counteract that with one of the best offenses in the country. Stanford does struggle against strong pitching, which they did against A&M in the first meeting. After the Aggies pitching was worn down they began to dominate. This Texas staff has been so strong and now the offense has came around since the Big 12 tournament debacle. I also lean to the under but I am staying away from total due to how volatile they have been. Lost too many last weekend by .5 or 1 run.
Pick: Texas (-150)
5:00pm cst: Indiana State Sycamores (+130) vs. TCU Horned Frogs (-160)
TCU dominated the first game and I am expecting more of the same. TCU threw a freshman who dominated the Sycamores. Like I have been saying this week. This is a massive let down spot for the Sycamores. Nobody is hotter than TCU right now.
Pick: TCU (-160)
8:00pm cst: Oregon Ducks (-140) vs. Oral Roberts (+110)
Oregon came back from 8 runs down to take out Oral Roberts in Game 1. Once could make an argument for a let down for either side in the next game. In a situation like this I rather trust the team that did not blow a 8 run lead. Once again, I trust this Oregon pitching staff when the going gets rough.
Pick: Oregon (-140)
Our Futures Positions:
Duke Blue Devils: 300/1, 45/1 & 25/1
TCU Horned Frogs: 45/1 & 15/1
Southern Miss: 30/1, 35/1
(added 35/1 as a ton of trash talk has begun between USM and Tennessee)
Texas: 20/1
