NBA Round 2 Record: (21-21)

  • 6:30pm cst: Philadelphia 76ers vs. Boston Celtics (-7.5)

James Harden and NBA MVP Joel Embiid came through when it was absolutely necessary in Game 4 to tie this series up heading back to Boston. The last time we saw James Harden have that type of performance he completely no showed the next game and was unable to hit a 3 pointer until Sunday. I see this game playing out a lot like Game 2 did in Boston. The 76ers will be totally gassed and the Celtics do what they do best and that is jack up about 50 3PT. The Celtics ball movement is killer when the Sixers are fatigued and the whole roster is capable of knocking down the 3PT. The spread above is accurate. How many times does Embiid really have that type of performance in a row during the postseason? James Harden? Exactly. It’s hard for them to replicate that especially on the road. I see a blowout win for Boston tonight. Again, Embiid will clog the paint so look for the role players to have great looks off penetration from Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

Pick: Celtics -7.5

Malcolm Brodgon Points, Rebounds & Assists Over 21.5 (-145)

Al Horford Points Over 8.5 (-120)

  • 9:00pm cst: Phoenix Suns vs. Denver Nuggets (-6.5)

Looks like there has been massive steam on the Nuggets and rightfully so. I see this game playing out almost exactly like the 76ers vs. Celtics game. The Suns have been extremely fortunate to have this series tied. Devin Booker is shooting around 80% the past two games averaging 40 PPG. I don’t expect that to end but I do not expect Landry Shamet to shoot 5/8 from 3PT range. Monty Williams finally learned how to coach, which can be scary with Booker and Durant. Monty has been running some of the worst rotations in the playoffs 2nd to only Mike Brown of the Kings. Deandre Ayton is a terrible post player. Ayton is the largest center in the league but he doesn’t know how to play basketball so he is a complete waste. TJ Warren, Shamet (a McDonald’s All-American) and Terrance Ross are starting to get playing time and that at least give good spacing for Durant and Booker because I mean… c’mon.. these guys are 100x better than Ish Wainwright. These are extremely elementary coaching moves that Monty Williams is finally making. I see this game getting away from the Suns but Phoenix at least has a punchers chance staying in this series behind Booker and Durant. I’m not afraid of the spread here. The Phoenix Suns and new owner Mat Ishbia have upset the 2x NBA MVP Nikola Jokic and there is nowhere for the Suns to hide now. Jokic has a career night in blowout fashion. Again.

Pick: Nuggets -6.5

Nikola Jokic Points Over 30.5 (-110)

Aaron Gordon Points Over 14.5 (-115)

***The other games will be posted once more lineup information is available.
