NBA Utah Summer League: Thursday
It is time for Summer League in the NBA where the new draft picks get to show what they are made of. These are exhibition showcases until the Vegas Summer League Tournament but it is never too early to gain new fans at these players’ new franchises. We will update as much as possible with early scouting reports and handicaps for wagering. 1 unit to win x.
NBA Summer League Record: (+0.96 units)
6:00pm cst: Oklahoma City Thunder -4 vs. Philadelphia 76ers
After the Thunder were dubbed as having the best roster in the West the Grizzlies knocked this Thunder back to reality. OKC has a handful of NBA starters on its summer league squad but they got ran over by Memphis last night. The Thunder did not hustle nor play as hard as the young Grizzlies players were. If that happens again this 76ers team can take home the victory. I like Ricky Council IV and Javonte Smart on this 76ers team. They also have Jaden Springer who saw garbage time minutes for the 76ers but he plays hard and enjoys defending. I will take a Philly team looking to play hard against a possible complacent Thunder team who already know their roles going into the new season.
Pick: 76ers ML (+150)
8:00pm cst: Memphis Grizzlies -2 vs. Utah Jazz
This Memphis team has been impressive but if you know who is on this team you should not be surprised. The Grizzlies are led by Kenny Lofton Jr., Jake Laravia, David Roddy and Jacob Gilyard from Richmond. Those who do no know Jacob Gilyard, he is a great point guard and is already showing his quick hands during the summer leage. Gilyard had 3 steals in game 1 and 7 in game 2. Jacob Gilyard is the all-time NCAAB leader in steals with 466. This is hungry NBA talent on this Memphis team.
Pick: Grizzlies -2
