MLB Handicaps: Thursday

Yesterday’s DDSN Player of the Game: Pablo Lopez who pitched a 9 inning complete game shutout against the KC Royals striking out 12 with 0 walks.

These prices are per Draft Kings, which are similar to FanDuel if those are available to you. Some use off shore accounts that have more juice than what is listed or are unavailable. If H+R+RBI is unavailable to you then I suggest you split a 1 unit bet 33% each or whatever % you’d like to 1 or 2 hits, 1 run & 1 RBI. You should get + money on 2/3 of those and that will help long term. Or find a way to pair them up in 2’s or 3’s (parlay). For baseball season, I personally bet 1 unit to win X and don’t lay more than -165. This refers most to player props. Questions? Just ask!

MLB Units For July: (+4.94 units)

Early Slate

  • 12:00pm cst: Cincinnati Reds (+110) vs. Washington Nationals (-130)

MacKenzie Gore and the Nationals had huge great success against the Reds but that was in 2022. This is a new and improved Reds team. The Reds also love facing LHP. The price feels correct based on Gore’s past games against Cinci but that was a completely different team. Gore also had the Padres offense behind him.

Pick: Reds (+110)

  • 12:00pm cst: Oakland Athletics (+145) vs. Detroit Tigers (-170)

Last night we had a great cash with the Oakland A’s. We called that one a mile away and picked up 1.9 units. Michael Lorenzen for the Tigers has been dominant against the A’s historically so this number makes sense for Detroit. What I see here and what I am shocked about it the low number on Lorenzen’s strikeouts.

Pick: Michael Lorenzen Strikeouts Over 4.5 (-120)

  • 1:00pm cst: Chicago Cubs (-105) vs. Milwaukee Brewers (-115)

We have a great pitching matchup between Marcus Stroman and Freddy Peralta. The Cubs are still on the cold side but have defeated the Brewers two games in a row looking for the sweep. With a price this low I cannot pass up the Brewers at home looking to avoid being swept behind Freddy.

Pick: Brewers (-115)

  • 4:00pm cst: Toronto Blue Jays (-125) vs. Chicago White Sox (+105)

This game got pushed yesterday do to weather so these two will play a double header. In the first matchups Jose Berrios takes the mound for the Jays and Lance Lynn for Chicago. I originally was thinking about playing the game Over 9 but I prefer fading Berrios. The White Sox lineup has great numbers against him enough too. CWS getting plus money here is great for us.

Pick: White Sox (+105)

  • 5:40pm cst: St. Louis Cardinals (+110) vs. Miami Marlins (-130)

The Marlins had a one of kind walk off last night to cash our ticket thanks to a huge throwing error by the Cardinals. Tonight we have Jack Flaherty against rookie phenom Eury Perez who we faded last week and cashed. Perez was blown up by the Braves so I expect him to settle back in behind his home crowd in Miami.

Pick: Marlins (-130)

  • 5:40pm cst: Philadelphia Phillies (+110) vs. Tampa Bay Rays (-130)

Philadelphia has been great in this series but can they finish the sweep? Christopher Sanchez is off to a great start to his young career and may be in the perfect spot against a struggling Rays team. There is no reason to get off this Phillies train right now.

Pick: Phillies (+110)

Evening Slate

  • 6:00pm cst: Baltimore Orioles (-130) vs. New York Yankees (+110)

Baltimore got the victory last night to avoid the possibility of a sweep last night. Tonight Kyle Bradish faces off against Luis Severino. This number with the Yankees and Severino is a bit disrespectful. I don’t think Bradish deserves to be a -130 favorite tonight. I like Severino in this one.

Pick: Yankees (+110)

  • 6:00pm cst: Kansas City Royals (+190) vs. Cleveland Guardians (-225)

I feel like this number on Cleveland is pretty accurate with the way the Royals have been playing and Tanner Bibee on the mound. I think the Guardians have a better offensive night with Jordan Lyles on the mound for KC.

Pick: Guardians -1.5 (-110)

  • 6:00pm cst: Texas Rangers (-135) vs. Boston Red Sox (+115)

I am not too sure why Kutter Crawford is garnering this much respect against Nathan Eovaldi. This is a cheap price on Eovaldi at a ballpark he used to call home. I will take the Rangers all day at this price.

Pick: Rangers (-135)
