College Baseball Opening Day

College Baseball season is making its triumphant return! Following our highly successful run last year, we are back with heightened expectations for an even more thrilling season.

When it comes to our wagers, we place a bet of 1 unit to win x. For baseball, we set a floor at -165. While this might seem like a steep price, there are instances where the number should be -200.

In games where we have both a Money Line (ML) and Run Line (RL) bet, you have the flexibility to choose the price that suits you best, instead of playing both.

College Baseball Record: (0.00 units)

  • 10:00am cst: Indiana Hoosiers (+135) vs. Duke Blue Devils (-175); Total 11.5

We’re in for a thrilling matchup at the “Baseball at the Beach” tournament in South Carolina, where the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers are set to host. Duke’s ace left-handed pitcher, Jonathan Santucci, is slated to make his much-awaited return following a major arm surgery. However, Indiana is not to be underestimated as they step into this tournament. They will be starting right-handed pitcher Brayden Risedorph, who, despite only starting five games last season, notched an impressive 60 strikeouts with a 4.47 ERA.

While Duke may boast a stronger offense, Indiana currently holds the #1 ranking among Big 10 teams, demonstrating plenty of prowess at the plate. I held Santucci in high regard last season, but considering his lengthy layoff, I’m inclined to back Indiana at this price, especially with Risedorph’s arm on the mound.

Pick: Indiana (+135) [via DraftKings]

  • 11:00am cst: Louisville Cardinals (-150) vs. Indiana State Sycamores (+120); Total 11.5

In the previous season, the Indiana Sycamores squared off against Wright State’s starting pitcher, Sebastian Gongora, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Gongora, who now represents Louisville, is scheduled to take the mound this Friday. Indiana State is returning with a formidable lineup, boasting 26 players from the last season. Many of these seasoned players had a strong performance against Gongora in their previous encounter. Given their experience and past performance, the Sycamores should be the favored team in this matchup. I’m backing this veteran Indiana State team.

Pick: Indiana State (+120) [via DraftKings]

  • 2:00pm cst: Ohio State Buckeyes (+110) vs. Boston College Eagles (-140); Total 12.5

Boston College was a great surprise to me in the NCAA Tournament. They have plenty of offense that is returning from last season, which will be key for them. I am not high on Ohio State. Short number for BC here with their offense. I’ll take it.

Pick: Boston College (-140) [via DraftKings]

  • 7:00pm cst: Texas Tech Red Raiders (+140) vs. Tennessee Volunteers (-180); Total 10.5

This game will be played in Arlington, Texas at Globe Life Field. I think this game will come down to the pitching because of it being played in an MLB stadium. Tennessee will have AJ Russell on the mound who was lights out last season as a freshman and I expect more of the same this season. Texas Tech will have Kyle Robinson starting who started last season a bit bumpy, but played better at the end of the season. I am going to take the Vols on the run line at plus money because of Russell on the mound.

Pick: Tennessee -1.5 (+100) [via DraftKings]

  • 7:00pm cst: Gonzaga Bulldogs (+190) vs. UCLA Burins (-250); Total 10.5

We should have a pitching duel in this game with Gonzaga’s Liam Paddack on the mound coming up from community college last season will face UCLA’s Luke Jewett, a preseason All Conference pitcher. Jewett will be making his first start after being a reliever last season. UCLA is a bit too pricey but I like the under here. I’ll see how total do for us this season, we won’t play many unless I have a good feel for them.

Pick: Under 10.5 (-115) [via DraftKings]

  • 7:00pm cst: Kansas State Wildcats (-160) vs. Cal Golden Bears (+124); Total 12.5

Kansas State is my underrated team in the Big 12 this season. They return a ton of talent will be a tough team all season. I was high on Cal last year but they were too inconsistent. This K-State price is still in our range and I am taking the moneyline here with the Wildcats.

Pick: Kansas State (-160) [via DraftKings]

  • 8:00pm cst: Washington Huskies (-110) vs. Long Beach State Dirtbags (-120); Total 11

I am starting to like the pitching staff the Dirtbags have put together. They also will have veterans in both the outfield and the infield. The Huskies lost six players to the MLB draft that they need to replace. Both are good teams but I like this veteran LBSU team at home.

Pick: Long Beach State (-120) [via DraftKings]

  • 10:30pm cst: Ole Miss Rebels (-180) vs. Hawaii Rainbow Warriors (+140); Total x

Last game of the night! We will have two sophomores facing off against one another. I favor the lefty for the Rainbow Warriors. Ole Miss will have JT Quinn on the mound who was not as sharp as Hawaii’s Harrison Bodendorf. The ‘Bows have plenty of talent and power at the plate to potentially give Ole Miss some issues. What the hell. Let’s end the night with a dirty dog.

Pick: Hawaii (+140) [via DraftKings]
