Champions League Wednesday
Timo Werner will look to upset Manchester City at home once again.
It was a rough day for us in Champion’s League but it shouldn’t have been. Liverpool jumped out to a 2-0 lead on Real Madrid but it didn’t last long. Real Madrid and its high powered offense scored 5 straight goals embarrassing Liverpool’s defense. Napoli won easily and missed too many opportunities to get the game over the total on their own especially with a missed penalty kick. Let’s jump back in!

Red Bull Leipzig (+320) vs. Manchester City FC (-110) ; total 2.5; 2:00pm ct
Leipzig has been in nice form as of late having an 18 game unbeaten streak until it was snapped last week in Bundesliga play. RB Leipzig also defeated Man City at home last year 2-1 in the UCL. Leipzig striker Timo Werner has had great success against this Premier League side and I expect that to continue. There are many factors that make Leipzig worth taking a shot at here: Red Bull’s success at home, its victory vs. Man City last season and Man City will be without Kevin De Bruyne. Sometimes in soccer / futbol you have to take a shot with a big dog when there are positive variable at play. This is one of those scenarios.
Pick: Red Bull Leipzig (+320)
FC Internazianale Milano (-140) vs. FC Porto (+450); total 2.5; 2:00pm ct
Both of these squads are as hot as can be with each having large success at home (Intern) and away (Porto). They both play strong defense and that has been shown throughout the UCL. With Porto being such a fit away team, I believe the number for Intern is too juiced and Porto is worth a play here. The defenses should be very key in this matchup as well. Porto’s main issue is the amount of injuries they have and the unknown at this time who will play or sit. For this reason I can only play the under. If you wait for lineups and Porto is fit then I don’t mind a ML or a spread bet with them getting .5 or 1 goal. If Porto can keep this game from getting away and keep it low scoring then they have a great chance when the second leg is played at home.
Pick: Under 2.5 (-150)
