Big 12 College Baseball Tournament: Day 1
2023 Big 12 Tournament at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas
The 1st round of the Big 12 Tournament will be kicking off today at Globe Life Field. After the Big 12 regular season finished in a three way tie between West Virginia, Texas and Oklahoma State there will be a Champion crowned this weekend. We will have all the college baseball gambling insight and discussion you could ask for. Let’s get after it!
(Betting lines via Draft Kings Sports Book: $100 = 1 unit). All games central cst.
Conference Tournament Record: 2-1 (+0.21 units)
9:00am cst: #5 Kansas State Wildcats (+115) vs. #4 TCU Horned Frogs (-145)
These two just finished a series against each other last weekend and now they meet again after TCU took the series (2-1). K-State will have LHP Owen Boerema who pitched a strong game against TCU last time out. The Horned Frogs will have RHP Cam Brown from Flower Mound, Texas on the bump who is no slouch. The price here is a bit too high I think it should be closer to TCU -120 if anything. I like EMAW Nation here.
Pick: Kansas State (+115)
12:30pm cst: #8 Kansas Jayhawks (+200) vs. #1 Texas Longhorns (-250)
The University of Texas is the overwhelming favorite in this game mostly due to ace LHP Lucas Gordon will be on the mound for the Longhorns. This price is much too high
Pick: NA
4:00pm cst: #7 Oklahoma Sooners (+135) vs. #2 Oklahoma State Cowboys (-165)
No information on who will be starting for either team. Can’t find it anywhere but OSU is the better overall team and anyone can win this game. I prefer OSU and its offense that has shown up all season. Can’t trust OU and would not buy on them at +135 price. Pokes.
Pick: Oklahoma State (-165)
7:30pm cst: #6 Texas Tech Red Raiders (-120) vs. #3 West Virginia Mountaineers (-110)
West Virginia shared 1/3 of the Big 12 regular season title after being swept by the Longhorns in Austin. Now they have an opportunity to prove the haters wrong with a Big 12 Conference Championship. Texas Tech will have LHP Mason Molina (3.91 ERA) against WVU’s RHP David Hagaman (2.30 ERA). Both of these pitchers won their respective games against each team during their series this year. This should be a good game in a coin flip. I’ll take WVU in a bounce back spot with a better price.
Pick: West Virginia (-110)
