Our DDSN Members Club Official Card went out early this morning. An hour before the games start, if I still like the current number, I will post it for DDSN Nation. Whichever number is posted here will count towards our regular season record, while the Members Club record will remain separate. We may add more games to this card as well throughout the day depending on how we are doing and numbers. Let’s go!

  • 6:30PM CST: LSU Tigers -4 vs. USC Trojans; Total 66.5

We have quite the battle of unknowns in Las Vegas. The last time we saw USC’s Miller Moss, he had the best game of his career in their bowl game against Louisville. This is a nice test for the Trojans now that they will be playing in the Big 10. How will they fare? USC has some great weapons, but they are still young. We don’t know how career backup Miller Moss will play now that he cannot surprise anyone. How improved is the USC offensive line?

On the other side, LSU will be starting Garrett Nussmeier after he has spent the majority of his career as a backup. The Tigers don’t have the same weapons as they did last season, so I am curious how the offense will look. Will they just reload once again, and can Nussmeier get them the football? LSU has one of the best offensive lines in the country. They will definitely have the edge in the trenches.

What may determine this game is which team has improved the most. Both defenses were dreadful last year, which hurt their chances to reach their potential. USC upgraded their trenches through the portal. LSU won’t be as strong on the line but has some of the best linebackers in the country.

I still think this is a huge step up in competition for USC, especially for head coach Lincoln Riley. We have not seen his best work in quite some time. Brian Kelly should be well-prepared. His teams are used to starting the season against tough competition like FSU the last two years. I love the offensive line and protection that Nussmeier has. He also has plenty of potential. I don’t like how the last time Miller Moss played, he was incredible. I don’t see that happening again. He won’t sneak up on anybody. It’s finally LSU’s turn to put the hurt on their first opponent.
