  • 6:30PM CST: Virginia Tech Hokies vs. Miami Hurricanes +17.5; Total 54

The Miami Hurricanes will be hosting Virginia Tech in an ACC showdown. The Hokies have two losses, but none have been in conference play. The slate is somewhat wiped clean tonight. Miami has run over all competition put in front of them. Will it continue against VaTech?

The Hokies had high expectations coming into the season but have obviously failed to live up to them. Tonight they can right the ship and all might be forgiven. It won’t be easy, though. Miami is full of weapons, especially with Cam Ward at quarterback. This will also be the best competition the Hurricanes have faced this season. Miami was favored by as much as 19.5, I believe, and that number came down to 17 yesterday and has mostly held up. I think Virginia Tech has the tools to stay in this game. This spread prior to the season would have been 4, maybe 7, but 17? No way. Too many points against a Hokies team that can turn things around. I’ll take the points.

  • 7:00PM CST: Washington Huskies vs. Rutgers Scarlet Knights -1; Total 45

Rutgers defeated the Virginia Tech Hokies last week on the road to remain unbeaten. The Washington Huskies have faced very little competition. When they did in the Apple Cup, Washington State made easy work of them. This Rutgers team isn’t getting much respect, and I have no idea why. They can run the football and play tough defense. I am not so sure this inexperienced Huskies team wants to tango with a Greg Schiano hard-nosed team on a Friday night in Piscataway, New Jersey. This ain’t Northwestern. Love Rutgers tonight.

Play: Rutgers -1 (-112) [via DraftKings]
