TAMPA – After seven long, grueling, excruciating and embarrassing weeks, Team McGregor finally put up its first win of the competition.

Team McGregor’s Rico DiSciullo stepped into the octagon with Team Chandler’s Hunter Azure in an attempt to give Team McGregor some life and avoid a devastating first-round sweep.

In the first round, Azure took the fight to DiSciullo, landing a takedown and taking top mount, landing heavy bombs. With over three minutes left in the first round, DiSciullo escaped the ground game and was able to stand for a short amount of time before being taken to the ground again.

DiSciullo did everything in his power to escape the ground game of the first round but was unable to escape as the horn for the first-round sounded. He escaped the round but not the ground game. Round one went to Azure.

Round two began with a leg kick from Azure and Rico landing some shots of his own to Azure’s chin. With a calf kick to the left leg and a right hook to the temple, DiSciullo gave Team McGregor its first sign of life as he was the only one on the team to move on to the semifinal round.

With this win for Team McGregor, it shows that anything can happen as Rico DiSciullo was Team McGregor’s No. 4 ranked bantamweight and he took out Team Chandler’s No. 1 ranked bantamweight, Hunter Azure.

“Rico comes up huge, an epic knockout, a big upset and Team McGregor narrowly avoids what would have been a brutal sweep,” said UFC President Dana White.
