College Baseball: Super Regionals Friday

College World Series Futures (link)

We have made it to NCAA Tournament Super Regionals where we will be previewing all of the Supers giving as much information as possible. We will have wagers throughout the weekend and futures plays for the World Series. Our wagers are betting 1 unit to win x and for baseball we do not go lower than -165. This is a steep price but there are opportunities where the number should be -200 so this is why that is our limit. On the games where we have a ML and RL bet you can always choose whichever price is best for you rather than playing both. Check out our home page where all the regional handicaps will be daily.

  • 11:00am cst: Duke Blue Devils (+155) vs. Virginia Cavaliers (-190)

It is no secret we have 3 different futures tickets on Duke starting with 300/1 from February, 45/1 before regionals and 25/1 at the start of super regionals. We have been confident in this Duke team since day 1. It is uncertain who will start for each team and this will probably a theme throughout the weekend with all teams. What we do know is that Duke won 2/3 against Virginia in Charlottesville back in late April. This Blue Devil squad will not have any fear heading into this Super Regional. Virginia went unscathed during Regionals thanks to some clutch at bats from its best players and MLB prospects. Duke has one of the best pitching staffs in the country and it is something UVA did not have to deal with in its Regional. This Virginia offense is the real deal but Duke once again is getting no respect. If their jerseys said Clemson these numbers would be much different. That is where we take advantage.

Pick: Duke (+155)

  • 4:00pm cst: TCU Horned Frogs (-165) vs. Indiana State Sycamores (+135)

This game is being played in Fort Worth at TCU but they are listed as the away team due to Indiana State being unable to hold the Super Regional due to an event. Total screwjob for the Sycamores but we do have multiple TCU positions so we cannot complain. Indiana State had its home crowd behind them last weekend, which helped will them to multiple comeback victories. Indiana State has the offense to keep up with TCU but I just do not think it will be enough. This TCU squad is firing on all cylinders since the beginning of the Big 12 Tournament. These Frogs have yet to lose a game this postseason, which includes its conference tournament and regionals. That is wild considering they are in the Big 12 and absolutely embarrassed Arkansas in Fayetteville. Believe it or not this is a short number on TCU with what they are capable of. Heavy juice so I’ll play the run line with how hot the offense has been. If we lose by 1 run we learn and move on. We still have our TCU future tickets.

Pick: TCU (-165) & TCU -1.5 (-115)

  • 5:00pm cst: South Carolina Gamecocks (+125) vs. Florida Gators (-155)

The Gamecocks swept their Regional and also swept the Gators at home earlier this season. We talked about how the Gators turned into a rejuvenated team after the loss to Texas Tech. The offense has exploded since then and I feel they have some nasty revenge on its their mind. South Carolina is a good team but they faced some pretty soft competition in its Regional. I was down on Campbell and higher on them last season and NC State has been weak all season. This is going to be the game where Florida picks up where they left off against Texas Tech and blasts the ‘Cocks team. A reinvigorated Florida team is something scary and the momentum is there.

Pick: Florida (-155) & Florida -1.5 (+110)

  • 7:00pm cst: Oral Roberts Golden Eagles (+120) vs. Oregon Ducks (-150)

We went over this series in detail in the CWS Futures post. Oral Roberts has a great team so forget what the front of the jersey says. Oregon is flying so under the radar it is scary. Oregon just swept a regional on the road defeating Vanderbilt and its pitching staff and beat Xavier twice. The Oregon staff does not get enough credit. Neither does the coach managing the rotations. They have so many capable pitchers they are ready for any situation. It can wear down opponents. I believe that is what will happen in this series. We know that Oklahoma State was a pretender and we took advantage. After beating up on big brother and sweeping the Stillwater Regional will ORU have a let down? I feel like it will happen. I like the Ducks here. Check out the futures preview for more info.

Pick: Oregon (-150) & Oregon -1.5 (+115)

Our Futures Positions:

Duke Blue Devils: 300/1, 45/1 & 25/1

TCU Horned Frogs: 45/1 & 15/1

Southern Miss: 30/1, 35/1

(added 35/1 as a ton of trash talk has begun between USM and Tennessee)

Texas: 20/1
