Today kicks off conference tournament play so we should have some great matchups. The 1st round of the SEC Tournament will be single elimination. Teams must win today to mover on to the double elimination portion of the tournament. We will have all the college baseball gambling insight and discussion you could ask for. Let’s get after it!

Conference Tournament Record: 2-1 (+0.21 units)

• 9:30am cst: #6 South Carolina Gamecocks (+120) vs. #3 LSU Tigers (-150)

The Gamecocks are coming off an impressive performance against Georgia in the 1st Round where the shutout the Bulldogs 9-0. When these two met earlier in the season each team won a game and the 3rd was cancelled. South Carolina will have RHP Eli Jones (3.88 ERA) on the mound against LSU’s RHP Thatcher Hurd (6.59 ERA). The Gamecocks are rolling hot right now and Hurd has been blown up all season against top competition. I see Hurd getting into trouble early as his track record shows and the Gamecocks taking advantage. Hurd has twice as many walks as strikeouts and almost an ERA over 7 runs. That’s all I needed to know before taking a shot with the ‘Cocks here.

Pick: South Carolina (+120)

• 1:00pm cst: #10 Texas A&M Aggies (+135) vs. #2 Arkansas Razorbacks (-165)

The Aggies had an impressive win against the Vols that may have solidified its chances to get into the NCAA Tournament. Arkansas won the SEC and swept A&M during the regular season. I was wrong about the Aggies yesterday but I don’t see them besting Arkansas. Aggies will have RHP Nathan Dettmer (6.28 ERA) from San Antonio, TX on the mound against RHP Cody Adcock (5.36 ERA). After A&M played a great game against Tennessee I don’t see them especially Dettmer getting up for this one. I like the price here on the Razorbacks.

Pick: Arkansas (-165)

• 4:30pm cst: #9 Alabama Crimson Tide vs. #1 Florida Gators

Just like yesterday, this game involves Alabama who is does not have any betting lines after its ex-head coach was fired for betting on its games.

• 8:00pm cst: #5 Auburn Tigers (+115) vs. #4 Vanderbilt Commodores (-145)

Auburn played a great game against Missouri. The Tigers and Commodores did not play each other this season so we will have a fresh matchup. I cannot find any information on this game. Auburn had the final game of Day 1 so it makes sense. We will let this marinate until we get some information.

So it looks like Auburn will have RHP Chase Allsup on the mound (5.95 ERA) and the Vandy starter is still unknown at this time. Auburn is probably the hotter team with the better offense and Vandy has come on late with good pitching. Allsups has been solid and I think I rather take the dog here with momentum and hot offense.
