We have a game full of debuts early to start the day. Ipswitch is back in the Premier League for the first time in 22 years. Liverpool will have a new manager this season as Arne Slot will be making his managing debut. Liverpool is expecting to come out hot like they typically do opening day, especially Mohamed Salah. I have to think that Ipswitch will have a great crowd and do whatever they can to keep this match close. We don’t know how Liverpool will look with Slot pulling the strings but I’m ready to see it. Southampton is back in the Premier League but history is not on their side. Five of the last six Championship playoff winners lost by at least two goals in their opening Premier League match. I am not a trend bettor but this falls inline with how we think this game will play out. Newcastle’s talent is much more superior and they will be playing at home.

This is about as close of a match as you can ask for. I have these teams rated about even. This will also be Everton’s last home opener at the Grand Old Lady. I think we will have a low scoring match that has the potential to end in a draw.
