  • 7:20: Green Bay Packers vs. Las Vegas Raiders -2; Total 45

Monday Night Football is in the desert, where the Raiders will do what they can to hold off the Packers. Las Vegas has been reeling, but so has Green Bay. Green Bay will be coming into this game with some extra rest, as its last game was last Thursday against the Lions. In the NFL, a little bit extra of anything is huge and could make the difference. What did we notice the last time the Raiders were in a home primetime spot against the Steelers? There were a ton more Steelers fans than Raiders fans, and you could hear it during the broadcast. The Green Bay Packers are a worldwide brand and I would say one of the five most popular franchises in the world, so I expect a huge crowd there for the cheeseheads.

Aside from the first game of the season, Jordan Love has struggled. He has been having two or three bad quarters with one or two good quarters. This has mostly been due to the offensive line injuries, but Love has proven he can move the ball behind this offensive line. When he is able to release the ball quickly, the Packers are able to move the ball down the field. With a long rest period, I think that the Packers have figured out a way to play with backup linemen. No Aaron Jones, but he has been banged up and out since Week 1, so it should not factor.

The Raiders have been struggling, and it has mostly been due to poor quarterback play and coaching. Jimmy Garoppolo will be back under center after missing a week due to a concussion injury in that Steelers game. Tensions are running extremely high in that Raiders locker room. This will be a defining game for the Raiders, and if it does not go well, there may be anarchy. Davante Adams has been extremely vocal after games about wanting to see change or else he wants out. That is not what you want to hear from your leader on a weekly basis. The pressure is fully on in Las Vegas. Will they make diamonds or will the pipes burst? We get our answer tonight.

I like the Packers tonight. We cannot factor in a home-field advantage for the Raiders after that Steelers game. I expect the cheesehead contingent to be out in full force. Jordan Love and the offensive line have had plenty of time to rest, and I expect HC Matt LaFleur to be prepared. It does not take much, but I rate him higher as a play caller and game manager than HC Josh McDaniels. There is so much bullshit and distractions going on in Las Vegas, I want no part of them. To me, this is a coin-flip game or the Packers should be favored by 1 or 2 points based on what I have seen this season. Does Green Bay not having a LT really account for 3 points? Not for me. The more prepared, better coached team will win. Go Pack Go.
