NBA Round 2 Record: (10-2)
6:30pm cst: Miami Heat vs. New York Knicks (-6)
We have an interesting pre tip-off line with Knicks being favored by 6 points. In the Knicks’ series against the Cavs they were the more physically dominant team but Miami was the one inflicting the damage Sunday. The Knicks still outrebounded the Heat, which was no easy feat with Kevin Love and Bam Adebayo in the paint. Now, Jalen Brunson appears to have an injured ankle and it seemed to really bother him. Jimmy Butler is guarding Brunson and basically face guarding him, which has really put a clog in the Knicks offensive attack. Kevin Love has also been key for the Heat with his passing and rebounding. Believe it or not, I believe the Knicks have a better chance with Brunson being OUT or if they start Immanuel Quickley. Jimmy Butler’s size gives Brunson too much trouble for him to get any sort of offense going. The Milwaukee Bucks stormed back after its home loss in game 1 but they had a championship roster even without Giannis. I have written this prior to injury and rosters being finalized 2:45pm cst pending final roster update.
In an interesting twist. Jimmy Butler will be OUT today. I like the Heat getting 9 points for one reason only: Erik Spoelstra.
Pick: Heat +9
Bam Adebayo Points, Rebounds & Assists Over 32.5 (-115)
Kevin Love Points, Rebounds & Assists Over 20.5 (+110)
Gabe Vincent Points Over 14.5 (-130)
9:30pm cst: Los Angeles Lakers vs. Golden State Warriors (-4.5)
These two have faced off a few times this season and in typical present day NBA fashion no roster was the same in any game. The Lakers have the most rest between the two after the Warriors went 7 games. Steph Curry just went off for 50 points and has been carrying this team throughout the 1st round. Will he have enough juice to go against a rested Lakers squad? The Lakers also do not have a little league team front line like the Kings. They will have LeBron, Anthony Davis, Hachimura and Vanderbilt in the paint fighting for every rebound. I don’t think Kevon Looney will be grabbing 20 boards a game in this series. Can Curry Muster up another 30 point performance? What a series we have in store for ourselves.
Pick: Lakers (+4.5)
LeBron James 42.5 Points, Rebounds & Assists (-105)
Steph Curry Points Under 31.5 (-120)
Andrew Wiggins Points Over 17.5 (-130)
***The other games will be posted once more lineup information is available.
