NBA Las Vegas Summer League: Day 9
It is time for the much anticipated Las Vegas Summer League in the NBA where the new draft picks get to show what they are made of. This is a one of a kind opportunity for those players still looking to make G-League rosters and fit into their new NBA rotations. We will update as much as possible with early scouting reports and handicaps for wagering. We got off to a good SL start so let us keep it goin’. We are betting 1 unit to win x.
NBA Las Vegas Summer League Record: (+2.37 units)
1:30pm cst: Charlotte Hornets vs. Minnesota Timberwolves -3.5
I doubt that Brandon Miller will be playing in this game and there is no telling if the whole Wolves team will be or not. The Timberwolves were playing great defense but they have found themselves on a three game losing streak. It is hard to gauge the effort level on some teams but I think Minnesota bounces back after an embarrassing performance. Per usual, I do not think the Hornets have enough offense.
Pick: Timberwolves -3.5 (-110)
2:00pm cst: Golden State Warriors vs. Toronto Raptors -1
It is interesting that the Raptors are favored. That leaves me to assume the Warriors probably have some players shut down. Quinones and Brandin Podziemski. The Raptors have actually been playing hard since Grady Dick was shut down. Last time the Warriors played they were embarrassed by the Rockets so I will take them ready to bounce back.
Pick: Warriors +1 (-110)
3:30pm cst: Milwaukee Bucks vs. Sacramento Kings pick
Kings were able to beat up on the Timberwolves a couple nights ago and now they play the struggling Bucks who are on a two game losing streak. The pick here makes sense because you never know how either of these teams is going to play. I rather take a hungry Bucks team (I hope) to make a run and snap the losing streak.

4:00pm cst: Washington Wizards vs. Chicago Bulls -2
The Wizards pull off a great win against the Thunder’s reserves yesterday. The Bulls are rested and are a very scrappy bunch. Bulls usually struggle against larger teams but the Wizards are also undersized. This Bulls team never lets us down. Time to go back to the well with Javon Freeman-Liberty.
Pick: Bulls -2 (-110)
5:30pm cst: Boston Celtics -4 vs. Orlando Magic
The Celtics were absolutely embarrassed last night against the Knicks. They are the much better team because Orlando does not play like a team. The Magic also turn the ball over more than they should. I have to back the Celtics.
Pick: Celtics -4 (-110)
7:00pm cst: Denver Nuggets vs. New York Knicks -1.5
I am not sure if the Knicks have finally figured something out or not. They have been playing much better but for a third time in a row? I am not so sure. I rather take the Nuggets in this one.
Pick: Nuggets ML (+105)
9:30pm cst: Memphis Grizzlies -3 vs. Phoenix Suns
The Grizzlies finally had a good game. It took them long enough. It makes sense after I slandered David Roddy he immediately had a great game. Even if the Grizzlies sit some players, which I do not think they will do they have strong reserves. The Suns are a scrappy bunch of players but do not have much else going for them.
Pick: Grizzlies -3 (-110)
