NBA Summer League: Utah Day 1
Summer League Record: (-2.00 units)
6:00PM CST: Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Philadelphia 76ers -5.5; Total 179.5
OKC does not have very much NBA experienced talent on their roster this summer. They will have a familiar face and name in Jack Gohlke, the March Madness three point shooting star. Other than Keyontae Johnson and Adam Flagler there is not much else help. The Sixers will have a more experienced team with big man Tony Bradley, Ricky Council IV, Darius Days, RJ Hampton and Romeo Langford. They also have some young rookies with plenty of potential to showcase like Jared McCain, Adem Bona, Judah Mintz, Justin Powell and David Jones. Keep an eye out for this 76ers squad especially David Jones. I am curious to see how Judah Mintz game translates to the next level.

8:00PM CST: Memphis Grizzlies vs. Utah Jazz -5.5; Total 184
One thing we learned after the past two days is that the home teams have been playing with a little extra edge during these games. I will say this Memphis team has some talent on it with experience. We will get to see how Zach Edey plays against older players for the first time (not including Olympics / FIBA). There are some names like Timmy Allen, GG Jackson who was great when he got minutes this past season, DeJon Jarreau making his return from a bad knee injury, Scottie Pippen Jr. who has also fared well when given the opportunity and Jaylen Wells from Wazzu. Wells has the frame that Memphis loves. There is also scrappy Cam Spencer from UConn. There is also plenty of talent on the Utah side starting with Keyonte George and Walker Kessler who are already solid NBA players. Kenny Lofton Jr. is also on the roster who has shown that he is in great shape. We will also hopefully see rookie Cody Williams, second year man Brice Sensabaugh, rookies Max Abmas and Armando Bacot. This Utah team is loaded with young NBA talent plus they are at home. I am going to wait and see if we get starting lineups or inactives before making a decision. Stay tuned. It doesn’t look like there will be any. I remember how well Utah played in summer league last year. Going back to the well with the home team.
