It is time for the much anticipated Las Vegas Summer League in the NBA where the new draft picks get to show what they are made of. This is a one of a kind opportunity for those players still looking to make G-League rosters and fit into their new NBA rotations. We will update as much as possible with early scouting reports and handicaps for wagering. We got off to a good SL start so let us keep it goin’. We are betting 1 unit to win x.

NBA Las Vegas Summer League Record: (+0.00 units)

• 3:30pm cst: New Orleans Pelicans -1.5 vs. Minnesota Timberwolves

I really like the squad that New Orleans is bringing to Vegas. They will have first round pick and National Champion sharpshooter Jordan Hawkins, 2nd year man Dyson Daniels, EJ Liddell, and 7’ Liam Robbins from Vanderbilt. This team has some nice young talent to kick off SL. Timberwolves do not have as much strength. You will recognize a couple ex-Duke players but other than G-League Leonard Miller who was traded from San Antonio during the draft there is not much here.

Pick: Pelicans -1.5 (-110)

• 4:00pm cst: Denver Nuggets vs. Milwaukee Bucks -2.5

Now the Bucks will have a few player you recognize. Let’s start with former 1st round pick Jabari Parker, Drew Timme from Gonzaga, National Champion Andre Jackson Jr. and fan favorite MarJon Beauchamp. Strong roster. The Nuggets have a couple players like Julian Strawther from Gonzaga, Jalen Pickett and Andrew Funk who both went to Penn State. Denver has some nice players to watch but I like this Bucks team with hungry players looking to break through.

Pick: Bucks -2.5 (-110)

• 5:30pm cst: Chicago Bulls vs. Toronto Raptors -2.5

This Chicago Bulls team should not be taken lightly. With players like National Champion Adama Sanogo, Tyree Appleby from Wake Forest, 2nd year man Dalen Terry and Javon Freeman-Liberty from DePaul look for this team to compete. Grady Dick will be making his debut with Toronto. You will also recognize Mighty Mouse Markuis Nowell from Kansas State, Ron Harper Jr. from Rutgers and Joe Wieskamp from Iowa. I prefer the hard nosed players for the Bulls in a situation where they have a chance to make the NBA roster.

Pick: Bulls ML (+120)

• 8:00pm cst: Charlotte Hornets vs. San Antonio Spurs -6.5

We gave this one out to our Twitter followers at Spurs -5.5 yesterday morning. I still like the Spurs in this spot because the have such a better roster than the Hornets. We have talked about this the past week that this Spurs bunch is playing very hungry. With Wembenyama in the lineup it sure raise everyone’s game even more. Julian Champagnie, Barlow and Bediako have been very impressive so far. Brandon Miller has struggled but the Hornets lineup in general just does not have much fight in them to start the summer.

Pick: Spurs -6.5 (-110)

• 9:30pm cst: Sacramento Kings vs. Atlanta Hawks -3.5

Keegan Murray will not be on the Las Vegas roster, which means the Kings will not have very much firepower. The Hawks have a decent roster that include Kobe Bufkin, AJ Griffin, M. Gueye from Washington State and Seth Lundy from Penn State. The have a couple other names you will recognize as well. It is a good spot to fade the Kings without Murray and the Hawks with fresh legs.

Pick: Hawks -3.5 (-110)

• 10:00pm cst: Golden State Warriors vs. Los Angeles Lakers -2

I feel like the Lakers are improving but they just do not have a strong roster. If Max Christie is making every 3PT then they have a chance to keep things close. When he is not shooting lights out they struggle. The Warriors blew them out only a couple days ago and as an underdog here I will go back with the Warriors whose roster I prefer.
