NBA Playoffs Sides Record: 4-6 (-4.86 Units) — Betting 1 Unit to Win X

It’s time for the NBA Playoffs! We had a great NBA season winning over seven units but it’s time for the playoffs. We will have plays on the spread for each game as we did last season when we were very successful. This season we are including our props that are also good to use in PrizePicks lineups from our Prop Department. I will be sticking to sides only after a rough Day 1. Let’s go!

  • 6:00pm ct: Phoenix Suns vs. Minnesota Timberwolves -3; Total 212

I did not like the effort I saw from the Phoenix Suns in Game 1. It was reminiscent of the Orlando Magic. They did not have great body language and ended up getting routed. Anthony Edwards has been the talk of the town and for good reason. The energy this T-Wolves team is playing with is giving them a massive edge. The Suns do not have the bench to match to Wolves pound for pound. Nickeil Alexander-Walker looks to be the Devin Booker stopper. Booker was off his game and that is putting it lightly. The Suns have dominated this series the last 12 games but after Game 1, I think that is changing. There is only so much Kevin Durant can do on his own. Give me the the Timberwolves that all grown up.

Play: Timberwolves -3 (-112) [via DraftKings]

Prop: Anthony Edwards Points OVER 26.5 (-105) [via DraftKings]

Prop: Karl-Anthony Towns Points UNDER 18.5 (-110) [via DraftKings]

Prop: Kevin Durant Assists UNDER 3.5 (-110) [via DraftKings]

Prop: Rudy Gobert Points + Rebounds + Assists OVER 28.5 (-115) [via DraftKings]

  • 7:30pm ct: Indiana Pacers vs. Milwaukee Bucks -1; Total 223.5

We have more of the same in this Eastern Conference matchup. The Bucks were terrible this season against the Pacers but once the Playoffs lights turned on so did their game. Damian Lillard went off for 35 points in the first half and did not score another bucket since. It didn’t matter. The playoff pedigree of the Bucks shined bright like their diamond rings. This is a complete experience mismatch. The Pacers looked terrible on offense and like the Magic, they will need to make 50% of their threes to even be in the game. That’s asking a lot. The Bucks experience and their crowd are doing their best to make up for the loss of Giannis. I saw a lost Pacers team that I cannot back in Game 2. I expect them to play better but I’m not sure it will be enough. This isn’t the Play-In Tournament. Recess is over.

Play: Bucks -1 (-110) [via DraftKings]

  • 9:00pm ct: Dallas Mavericks vs. Los Angeles Clippers -1.5; Total 216.5

The Clippers came out on fire in Game 1 against Dallas. Now, they will have their best player, Kawhi Leonard, on the floor with them. There was a major advantage for the Clippers with their physicality and size especially in the paint. I expect the the Mavericks to have a much better game offensively but it is the defensive side of the ball that they are having issues with. With Kawhi in the lineup that only amplifies the LA defense as well as the physicality. Clippers were great all year with Leonard on the floor against Dallas. I’m backing the Clippers.

Play: Clippers -1.5 (-110) [via DraftKings]

Prop: Kyrie Irving Assists OVER 4.5 (-102) [via DraftKings]

Prop: Luka Doncic Rebounds + Assists OVER 18.5 (-122) [via DraftKings]
