This season we are including our props that are also good to use in PrizePicks lineups from our Prop Department. I will be sticking to sides only after a rough Day 1. Let’s go!

  • 7:30PM CST: Dallas Mavericks vs. Boston Celtics -6.5; Total 217

The Boston Celtics should be well rested but will that result in rust? Dallas has been firing on all cylinders against tough competition. The Celtics have been fortunate by facing the Eastern Conference teams that have been plagued by injuries. We do know that the Celtics have been struggling with teams with an interior presence. Boston does get Kristaps Porzingis back, which will help in that department but how healthy is he? Will Al Horford be a liability off the bench? The Mavericks have been rotating a very strong center duo between Daniel Gafford and Derek Lively II. The Celtics are fortunate they have two of the best guard defenders in the league with Derrick White and Jrue Holiday but is that enough to stop Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic?

The Boston Celtics have been favored by 6-16 points in almost every home game during the playoffs against the extremely weaker Eastern Conference. Now, the Dallas Mavericks waltz into town getting 6.5 points after defeating the Clippers, Thunder and Timberwolves who are the cream of the crop out West. I also believe the size of Gafford and Lively will give Porzingis and Horford plenty of trouble. The Mavericks also have been doing a fantastic job rebounding, which will be key in this series. We haven’t even mentioned the stars in this series! Jayson Tatum and Jaylon Brown will be trying to knock the stigma that they are not real superstars in this league. Non-closers. The duo that can’t close the deal. On the other side, Luke Doncic is one of if not the most decorated player in the NBA under the age of 25. He has experience playing in raucous crowds overseas when he was a teenager. Kyrie Irving has NBA Finals experience and a championship ring in his trophy case. The Dallas duo has the highest FG% in an NBA Playoffs and they may get slowed down against White and Holiday but I still do not think it will be enough. The type of run Luke and Kyrie are on right now is generational. Boston has a top defense but that’s in the Eastern Conference. Dallas has the best defense and they play in the West. The Dallas wings are well rested and the Corner Boys are ready to defense and shoot the three. I like Dallas to win this in five or six games. They have an opportunity to steal home court tonight and put a massive amount of pressure on Boston. For Dallas it’s just another day at the office.
