Dirtbags MLB Friday

Yesterday’s DDSN Player of the Day is James Outman who went 2/5 with 2 HR, 2 R & 5 RBI that includes his 1st career grand slam and multi home run game.

Ok, let’s try something a little different. For each game that I have a good read on I’ll explain the handicap like I do with all the other sports. This includes player props, moneylines and totals. We had such a great start to the season but after last week and most of this week it has been rough. It’s difficult to handicap baseball on a daily bases but I will try and give you as much information to help you cash some tickets. It’s an extremally long season so let me try and get us back on track. Thanks to those that take the time to read. Follow us on twitter after we get y’all some winners! This will help us grow as we continue to dominate MLB.

These prices are per Draft Kings, which are similar to FanDuel if those are available to you. Some use off shore accounts that have more juice than what is listed or are unavailable. If H+R+RBI is unavailable to you then I suggest you split a 1 unit bet 33% each or whatever % you’d like to 1 or 2 hits, 1 run & 1 RBI. You should get + money on 2/3 of those and that will help long term. Or find a way to pair them up in 2’s or 3’s (parlay). For baseball season, I personally bet 1 unit to win X and don’t lay more than -160. This is refers most to player props. Questions? Just ask!

Early Slate

  • 1:00pm cst: Los Angeles Dodgers (-155) vs. Chicago Cubs

The Cubs have definitely had the Dodgers’ number after being swept by them last season. LA is juicy favorites today with Julio Urias on the mound. The Dodgers have had success against the Cubs’ pitcher Drew Smyly. A lefty v. lefty matchup today. Cubs love to hit against LHP and Urias has struggled against the Cubs. This is not a terrible spot to play the Cubs but I don’t want to back Drew Smyly. The wind is blowing hard OUT to centerfield so I lean more towards runs today. There are some + money prices in the prop market I like.

Pick: Mookie Betts H+R+RBI Over 2.5 (+120)

Freddie Freeman H+R+RBI Over 2.5 (+125)

Patrick Wisdom H+R+RBI Over 1.5 (+125)

Seiya Suzuki H+R+RBI Over 1.5 (+105)

  • 5:30pm cst: Cincinnati Reds vs. Pittsburgh Pirates (-150)

The Pirates picked up an easy win last night after scoring 4 runs in the 1st inning but did not score again after that. The Pirates are on a 4 game winning streak and the Reds are on a 3 game losing streak but I think they each get snapped today. The Reds’ pitcher Grant Ashcraft has been locked in to start the season and he is on the bump tonight. The Pirates will start Mitch Keller who is also off to a hot start but does struggle against the Reds.

Pick: Reds (+130)

Jonathan India H+R+RBI Over 1.5 (-145)

Spencer Steer H+R+RBI Over 1.5 (-120)

  • 5:30pm cst: Chicago White Sox vs. Tampa Bay Rays (-180)

The Rays will be starting a relieve opener in Calvin Faucher against the White Sox’s Michael Kopech who struggled in his 1st start but has settled in since then. Kopech was successful the one time he started against Tampa Bay last year. I don’t have a good read on this game because I don’t trust Kopech just yet and the Rays offense could destroy anyone. I’m going to pass on this game.

Pick: NA

Evening Slate

  • 6:00pm cst: Colorado Rockies vs. Philadelphia Phillies (-305)

Last night the Rockies dominated the Phillies from start to finish. They will be pitching rookie Noah Davis who was successful in his 1st start last week. Phillies will have its ace Aaron Nola on the mound. These numbers suggest a big game for the Phillies, which is very possible after the Rockies shut them down. The Phillies player props are very juiced so I rather take a couple Rockies players + money with good info behind them. Kris Bryant and Charlie Blackmon have good numbers against Nola.

Pick: Charlie Blackmon H+R+RBI Over 1.5 (+110)

Kris Bryant H+R+RBI Over 1.5 (+110)

  • 6:00pm cst: Toronto Blue Jays vs. New York Yankees (-130)

Last start Domingo German was almost unhittable against the Twins. The Yankees batters have struggled in the past against Kikuchi with the except of DJ LeMahieu and Gleyber Torres. This may be a spot to buy on the Blue Jays but there is not enough for me to play the moneyline.

Pick: DJ LeMahieu H+R+RBI Over 1.5 (-115)

Gleyber Torres H+R+RBI Over 1.5 (-130)

Bo Bichette H+R+RBI Over 1.5 (-155)

  • 6:00pm cst: Detroit Tigers vs. Baltimore Orioles (-190)

The Tigers are pitching Michael Lorenzen again who was blown up in his first start since 2022. Maybe he knocked off the rust but the Orioles starter Tyler Wells is off to a hot start. I have a feeling Lorenzen bounces back but I’m not sure I’m willing to bet on it. This games feels like a pass for me because it is hard to blindly trust the Tigers’ offense.

Pick NA

  • 6:00pm cst: Miami Marlins vs. Cleveland Guardians

POSTPONED

  • 6:00pm cst: Houston Astros vs. Atlanta Braves (-115)

Both of these power houses will be starting young pitchers who are off to a great start in 2023. This is a great time to back to young power arms in Hunter Brown for Houston and Bryce Elder for Atlanta.

Picks: Hunter Brown Strikeouts Over 5.5 (+115)

Bryce Elder Strikeouts Over 4.5 (-105)

  • 7:00pm cst: Oakland Athletics vs. Texas Rangers (-215)

Texas will be debuting its new City Connect uniforms tonight, which I am personally not a fan of but that is neither here nor there. Jon Gray is on the mound for Texas and he has been as dominant as anyone to start the season. The Texas bats are red hot and that should be where we look.

Pick: Josh Jung H+R+RBI Over 1.5 (-155)

Nathaniel Lowe H+R+RBI Over 1.5 (-140)

Marcus Semien H+R+RBI Over 1.5 (-145)

  • 7:00pm cst: Boston Red Sox vs. Milwaukee Brewers

Yesterday the Red Sox offense destroyed the Twins and I am suspecting them to take a bit of a step back against Freddy Peralta for the Brewers. I’m buying on the Brew Crew and its offense tonight against Nick Pivetta and the Red Sox.

Pick: Brewers Team Total Over 4.5 (-125)

Christian Yelich H+R+RBI Over 1.5 (-120)

Rowdy Tellez H+R+RBI Over 1.5 (+105)

Night Slate

  • 8:40pm cst: San Diego Padres vs. Arizona Diamondbacks (-110)

We had quite the offensive explosion from the Padres something they have been missing. Fernando Tatis “Senor Juice” is back in the lineup and I think today might be the day to buy a little bit of Tatis stock. Even though the offense sparked last night they have good number against Gallen that track. Let’s back the Padres and Seth Lugo.

Pick: Padres (-110)

Jake Cronenworth H+R+RBI Over 1.5 (+105)

Xander Bogaerts H+R+RBI Over 1.5 (-120)

Fernando Tatis Jr. H+R+RBI Over 1.5 (-155)

  • 9:00pm cst: St. Louis Cardinals vs. Seattle Mariners (-130)

I feel like these two haven’t played a game in quite some time. With an interleague game like this there is not much data on matchups here. We have been fading Steven Matz plenty this season and I’m going back to the well. George Kirby has also been solid for us so we go back to him here on a short price.

Pick: Mariners (-130)

Julio Rodriguez H+R+RBI Over 1.5 (-120)

Jarred Kelenic Hits Over 0.5 (-125)

  • 9:00pm cst: New York Mets vs. San Francisco Giants (-115)

Mets are starting Joey Lucchesi for the first time this team against the Giants’ Anthony DeSclafani. I like the Mets bats history against DeSclafani, which is showing some good numbers. With an underdog price the Mets look like the best place to go.

Pick: Mets (-105)

Pete Alonso H+R+RBI Over 1.5 (-140)

Francisco Lindor H+R+RBI Over 1.5 (-160)
