Dirtbags MLB Thursday

Yesterday’s DDSN Player of the Day is Luis Garcia who pitched 7 shutout innings with 9 strikeouts and only 1 walk.

Ok, let’s try something a little different starting today. For each game that I have a good read on I’ll explain the handicap like I do with all the other sports. This includes player props, moneylines and totals. We had such a great start to the season but after last week and most of this week it has been rough. It’s difficult to handicap baseball on a daily bases but I will try and give you as much information to help you cash some tickets. It’s an extremally long season so let me try and get us back on track. Thanks to those that take the time to read. Follow us on twitter after we get y’all some winners! This will help us grow as we continue to dominate MLB.

These prices are per Draft Kings, which are similar to FanDuel if those are available to you. Some use off shore accounts that have more juice than what is listed or are unavailable. If H+R+RBI is unavailable to you then I suggest you split a 1 unit bet 33% each or whatever % you’d like to 1 or 2 hits, 1 run & 1 RBI. You should get + money on 2/3 of those and that will help long term. Or find a way to pair them up in 2’s or 3’s (parlay). For baseball season, I personally bet 1 unit to win X and don’t lay more than -160. This is refers most to player props. Questions? Just ask!

Early Slate

  • 12:30pm cst: Minnesota Twins vs. Boston Red Sox (-125)

Last night the Twins’ offense blew up the Red Sox pitching staff especially Corey Kluber. Kluber had good numbers against the Twins but with Joey Gallo back in the lineup it did not matter. Today the Twins have Kenta Maeda on the mound against the Red Sox’ Tanner Houck. Both have had good starts to the season. Neither of these lineups have had many ABs against either starter. I like to buy on teams after they get destroyed especially at home. These props are extremely juiced so I’m happy to just take the Red Sox short ML price.

Pick: Red Sox (-125)

  • 3:00pm cst: Los Angeles Angels vs. New York Yankees (-155)

The Angels are not even 20 games into the season and the Ohtani trade rumors are starting. As we predicted at the start of the season, there was a good chance Ohtani gets traded because the Angels would not be able to field a playoff worthy roster. Today we have a lefty vs. lefty matchup with the Angels’ Patrick Sandoval taking on the Yankees’ Nasty Nestor Cortes. Both pitchers have had success against these lineups but there is not enough data for solid reads. The best bet would be the game total Under 8 now. The Angels bats have more experience and have had success against LHP so that may be the way to go for some good prices. I like the Angels here but going the props route.

Pick: Patrick Sandoval Strikeouts Over 5.5 (+140)

Logan O’Hoppe Hits Over 0.5 (-130)

Shohei Ohtani H+R+RBI Over 1.5 (+100)

Evening Slate

  • 5:30pm cst: Cincinnati Reds vs. Pittsburgh Pirates (-165)

How about these Pittsburgh Pirates? They are 12-7 and still keeping the wins coming without Oneil Cruz. The Reds are also having a great start to its season except they need a damn bullpen. Tonight the Reds will be throwing RHP Luke Weaver who has not pitched yet this season. He will be going against the Pirates’ Roansy Contreras. I really like the Pirates here due to Contreras’ success against the Reds last season but this price flew a bit too high. Although, there are other spots where we can take advantage.

Pick: Pirates Team Total Over 4.5 (-140)

Carlos Santana H+R+RBI Over 1.5 (-135)

Jonathan India H+R+RBI Over 1.5 (-130)

  • 5:30pm cst: Colorado Rockies vs. Philadelphia Phillies (—25)

Tonight the Phillies will be pitching LHP Matt Strahm vs. the Rockies Ryan Feltner who has struggled to start the season. Strahm has had a very sharp start to the season but the Rockies’ best players can hit left handed pitching fairly well. This is a game I wouldn’t go to crazy on but there is some that I do like here. I also feel like Over 9 is the way to go but was wanting Charlie Blackmon to be in the lineup for Colorado so I’m passing.

Pick: Bryson Stott H+R+RBI Over 1.5 (-140)

Brandon Marsh H+R+RBI Over 1.5 (-115)

Kris Bryant H+R+RBI Over 1.5 (-105)

  • 6:30pm cst: Los Angeles Dodgers (-115) vs. Chicago Cubs

Jameson Taillon was a late scratch for the Cubs who are now starting RHP Javier Assad from Tiajuana, Mexico. Assad has been appearing out of the bullpen this year with nice success. Dodgers struggled last weekend with the Cubs but not todays starter Michael Grove. I don’t like betting on late scratches like Assad. Dodgers are at a short number and I want to go that way fading the possible ill prepared Assad. I also wanted to look at Michael Groves’ strikeouts prop but it’s unavailable.

Pick: Dodgers (-115)

Night Slate

  • 8:30pm cst: San Diego Padres (-140) vs. Arizona Diamondbacks

Tonight is the awaiting return of the Juice Man. No, not OJ da Juiceman but Fernando Tatis Jr. will be in the lineup for the Padres. Will it be the spark that the Friars need to wake the bats up? I don’t think Michael Wacha should be this large of a favorite against a solid starter in Ryne Nelson. Arizona is still a hot team. When these two last met, the Diamondbacks had a field day on the base paths. So if Arizona can get on base they will torch Nola the Padres catcher. The stolen base props could be 1 unit or less. Players choice.

Pick: Diamondbacks (+125)

Corbin Carroll Stolen Base (+310)

Josh Rojas Stolen Base (+425)

  • 8:30pm cst: New York Mets (-125) vs. San Francisco Giants

When players come over from Japan and do poorly in the MLB they never hear the end of it but SP Kodai Senga is off to a great start for NY. He will be going against LHP Sean Manea who is off to a strong start for the Giants. The Mets batters are fairly strong against LHP, so I’m looking towards Lindor, Alonso and Pham.

Pick: Mets (-125)

Francisco Lindor H+R+RBI Over 1.5 (-130)

Pete Alonso H+R+RBI Over 1.5 (-135)
