For baseball season, I personally bet 1 unit to win X and don’t lay more than -165. These plays also work great with PrizePicks. Questions? Just ask! Follow for more!

MLB Units for August (-4.37 units)

Early Slate

  • 12:00PM CST: Kansas City Royals (-108) vs. Minnesota Twins (-112); Total 8.5

The Twins will be going for the sweep today with Louie Varland on the mound. KC will have LHP Cole Ragans on the mound. Because of the way Varland is a bit unpredictable, the Royals look to be the play here. Although Varland has calmed down his last couple of starts, it’s only a matter of time before he blows up again.

Play: Royals (-108) [via DraftKings]

  • 3:00PM CST: Pittsburgh Pirates (+114) vs. San Diego Padres (-135); Total 8.5

The Pirates are struggling right now. They have won only one game in their last ten. Padres are getting strong by the week it seems. I think that the Padres keep things rolling. It’s tough to back the Pirates offense right now. They do well against LHP though. I just don’t think it is worth the price to buy on them snapping this losing streak.

Play: Padres (-135) [via DraftKings]

  • 5:35PM CST: Baltimore Orioles (+145) vs. Washington Nationals (-175); Total 9

Dean Kremer on the mound and he’s been great against the Nationals. The Baltimore offense also loves to hit LHP. Laying the runs here.

Play: Orioles -1.5 (+120) [via DraftKings]

  • 5:40PM CST: Miami Marlins (+140) vs. Philadelphia Phillies (-166); Total 8.5

This line doesn’t make too much sense. The Phillies have struggled and the Marlins are .500 since the All-Star break. Phillies have the second or third worse record since the break. Marlins won last night but I think the Marlins can win another with Edward Cabrera on the mound who has been stellar against Philly. Taking a shot.

Play: Marlins (+140) [via DraftKings]

  • 5:40PM CST: St. Louis Cardinals (-115) vs. Cincinnati Reds (-105); Total 9

Interesting line. The Reds’ offense is starting to heat up since their match with the Marlins. The Cardinals are reeling. We love to fade Kyle Gibson and the Reds are dogs today. Cinci with a opener game with Emilio Pagan but last time he started they were great. Let’s try it again.

Play: Reds (-105) [via DraftKings]

  • 5:50PM CST: Houston Astros (-122) vs. Tampa Bay Rays (+102); Total 7.5

The Astros are one of the hottest teams in baseball with their seven game win streak. The Rays always seem to avoid being swept. Something has to give tonight. I think we will see a pitching duel with Ronel Blanco going against Zach Littell. I think the Rays snap the winning streak tonight.

Play: Rays (+102) [via DraftKings]

Evening Slate

  • 7:00PM CST: Los Angeles Dodgers () vs. Milwaukee Brewers (); Total 8.5

The Dodgers are looking to sweep the Brew Crew. The Brewers have struggled all season against the Dodgers and I thought Milwaukee would’ve been able to change to momentum but nope not happening. Walker Buehler loves facing the Brewers and Montas gets killed by LA. Terrible number here. Let’s take advantage.

Play: Dodgers (-115) [via DraftKings]

Night Slate

  • 8:30PM CST: Toronto Blue Jays (-108) vs. Los Angeles Angels (-112); Total 7.5

Jose Berrios has been up and down his last four starts. He has struggled when facing the Angels though. Toronto also struggles against LHP and Tyler Anderson is on the mound for LA. I’m taking a shot fading Toronto.

Play: Angels (-112) [via DraftKings]

  • 8:30PM CST: Atlanta Braves (+114) vs. San Francisco Giants (-135); Total 7.5

The Braves will be going for the road sweep. They have been solid against LHP as well. Always tough to get that third game for the sweep but the numbers are pointing to the Bravos. It’s about an even match here so let take the Braves edge against LHP.

Play: Braves (+114) [via DraftKings]
