MLB Handicaps: Saturday

Yesterday’s DDSN Player of the Game: Mookie Betts who was 4/4 with 2 HR, 4 RBI & 3 R

These prices are per Draft Kings, which are similar to FanDuel if those are available to you. Some use off shore accounts that have more juice than what is listed or are unavailable. If H+R+RBI is unavailable to you then I suggest you split a 1 unit bet 33% each or whatever % you’d like to 1 or 2 hits, 1 run & 1 RBI. You should get + money on 2/3 of those and that will help long term. Or find a way to pair them up in 2’s or 3’s (parlay). For baseball season, I personally bet 1 unit to win X and don’t lay more than -165. This refers most to player props. Questions? Just ask!

Early Slate

  • 3:00pm cst: Washington Nationals (+175) vs. Philadelphia Phillies (-205)

To the naked eye this looks like a mismatch. Not so fast! MacKenzie Gore for the Nationals has not only put up strong numbers this season but he had great outings against the Phillies. That is a whole lot better than what Zach Wheeler can say. Let’s get dirty with this undervalued dog. Love this Nats team.

Pick: Nationals (+175)

  • 3:00pm cst: Houston Astros (+115) vs. Texas Rangers (-135)

Hunter Brown will be on the mound tonight for the Astros against Nathan Eovaldi. The Texas Rangers have yet to score an earned run against Brown in two outings he has faced them. Eovaldi has not faired well against the Astros in 2 of his last 3 appearances. The numbers and history say to take the Astros at plus money or do you think Brown is due for some regression against the Rangers? The Rangers had a pretty weak lineup last time Hunter Brown started so it is revenge time for Texas.

Pick: Rangers (-135)

  • 3:00pm cst: Minnesota Twins (+130) vs. Baltimore Orioles (-150)

We were on the Orioles last night and they got blasted by the Twins. Baltimore has lost three games in a row so this feels like an obvious spot and the price is definitely reflecting that. If I play this one I would back the Twins and Ober but I feel Baltimore snaps the losing streak. It’s a pass for me.

Pick: None

  • 3:00pm cst: Milwaukee Brewers (-140) vs. Pittsburgh Pirates (+120)

Last night we liked the Brewers to win but didn’t like the high price so we played the under. Both ended up losing with an epic Pirates comeback. The Pirates could very well build on that momentum. Johan Oviedo will be going up against Corbin Burnes but Oviedo has been strong. Home dog with the mo’! That gut punch may still be sitting with the Brew Crew.

Pick: Pirates (+120)

  • 3:00pm cst: Chicago White Sox (-210) vs. Oakland Athletics (+180)

Dylan Cease will be on the mound for the White Sox against Kyle Muller from Dallas, Texas for the Athletics, which explains the expensive pricing. Muller has an ERA over 8 this season. I like laying the 1.5 here with CWS.

Pick: White Sox -1.5 (-135)

  • 3:00pm cst: Miami Marlins (+140) vs. Atlanta Braves (-165)

Young gun Eury Perez will be facing the veteran Charlie Morton. Atlanta stomped on the Marlins last night so there is the possibility that Miami comes out with a vengeance behind Perez. Except, Miami is (1-7) against Atlanta this season so it’s hard to back the fish in this matchup. I’m playing under after the scoring barrage last night.

Pick: Under 9 (-105)

  • 3:00pm cst: San Francisco Giants (+125) vs. New York Mets (-145)

Well, the Mets kicked us right in the gut last night costing us a winning MLB day. Is it crazy to back them again here? Yes, it probably is but I like Justin Verlander on the mound. DeSclafani has not been the best this season. What a perfect spot for the Mets to get a win. Plug your nose.

Pick: Mets (-145)
