MLB Handicaps: Friday
Yesterday’s DDSN Player of the Game: Spencer Torkelson who was 2/3 with 2 HR, 4 RBI and 2 R.
These prices are per Draft Kings, which are similar to FanDuel if those are available to you. Some use off shore accounts that have more juice than what is listed or are unavailable. If H+R+RBI is unavailable to you then I suggest you split a 1 unit bet 33% each or whatever % you’d like to 1 or 2 hits, 1 run & 1 RBI. You should get + money on 2/3 of those and that will help long term. Or find a way to pair them up in 2’s or 3’s (parlay). For baseball season, I personally bet 1 unit to win X and don’t lay more than -165. This refers most to player props. Questions? Just ask!
MLB Units This Week: (+3.59 units)
Early Slate
4:00pm cst: San Diego Padres (-135) vs. Cincinnati Reds (+115)
The Padres have been struggling losing 8 of their last 10 games. The Reds are a bitter hotter winning 7 of their last 10 games and now they are back home. I know Graham Ashcroft is on the mound and he has had some rough starts. This is a great opportunity to grab the Reds as underdogs especially with the Reds player props being juiced tonight.
Pick: Reds (+115)
5:00pm cst: Washington Nationals (+155) vs. Philadelphia Phillies (-180)
Josiah Gray will be starting for the Nationals tonight who has struggled against this Phillies lineup. He will be facing LHP Christopher Sanchez. If Gray is starting for the Nats then I like this game over the total. This number should be at least 10 minimum.
Pick: Over 9.5 (-115)
Evening Slate
6:00pm cst: Milwaukee Brewers (-140) vs. Pittsburgh Pirates (+120)
Freddy Peralta gets the bump tonight against the rookie Osvaldo Bido for the Pirates. Both teams are on a winning streak but only one can keep it going in the tight NL Central race. Freddy Peralta has dominated the Pirates recently so the -140 with the Brewers does not look to pricey. Bido for the most part is an unknown although he has been solid in his three starts. I’ll go under here as I am looking for a pitching duel.
Pick: Under 8.5 (-110)
6:00pm cst: Minnesota Twins (-105) vs. Baltimore Orioles (-115)
We should have a solid matchup here between Pablo Lopez and Dean Kremer. The Orioles have lost two games in a row and I believe they have only loss three in a row once or none this season. The Orioles are cheap here in this situation and it is an auto play for me.
Pick: Orioles (-115)
6:00pm cst: Boston Red Sox (+120) vs. Toronto Blue Jays (-140)
The Red Sox are as close to ice cold as it could get. Tonight LHP James Paxton faces RHP Jose Berrios. With the exception of Berrios’ last start against the Sox he has been strong against their lineup. I like Alex Verdugo and George Springer props but I’m going to be siding with the Jays at home.
Pick: Blue Jays (-140)
6:00pm cst: San Francisco Giants (-135) vs. New York Mets (+115)
Alex Cobb and the hot Giants go against Carlos Carrasco and the Bad News Mets. This may be a little smelly but I like the Mets at home with Carrasco on the mound. The NY lineup trends well against Cobb especially Pete Alonso. Time for a Mets bounce back.
Pick: Mets (+115)
6:00pm cst: Miami Marlins (+155) vs. Atlanta Braves (-180)
Yes, the Marlins have been playing well as can be but so have the Braves. Atlanta has won 9 of its last 10 games. There is quite the mismatch on the mound with Marlins pitching Bryan Hoeing who was blasted last time out against Atlanta. On the other hand, the Braves will have Mike Soroka making his 3rd start since 2020. I like the Braves here laying 1.5 with plus money.
Pick: Braves -1.5 (+105)
7:00pm cst: Houston Astros (+145) vs. Texas Rangers (-170)
The Astros are coming off two huge offensive games against the Cardinals scoring a total of 24 runs winning both. Of course this is a huge division rivalry game and I wish this price on Texas was not so high. After those two offensive nights from Houston I am going to trust Jon Gray to shut them down.
Pick: Rangers -1.5 (+110)
7:00pm cst: Los Angeles Dodgers (-215) vs. Kansas City Royals (+185)
I’m tempted to play strikeout props in this game because of how large the Dodgers are favored. Royals will be starting a rookie in his debut from Arizona State. I lean over but it will be a pass for me.
Pick: None
7:00pm cst: Detroit Tigers (-115) vs. Colorado Rockies (-105)
Michael Lorenzen for the Tigers has not had great luck against the Rockies historically. This is a great time to buy low on the Rockies and Austin Gomber. I don’t hate it especially at this number.
Pick: Rockies (-105)
7:00pm cst: New York Yankees (-105) vs. St. Louis Cardinals (-115) POSTPONED
This feels like a 50/50 game although I do favor Luis Severino on the mound. This is also a low total but both of these teams have each had games with 10+ runs scored twice in a row. I like the Yankees and Severino as underdogs.
Pick: Yankees (-105)
Night Slate
8:30pm cst: Arizona Diamondbacks (+140) vs. Los Angeles Angels (-165)
I don’t really have a feel for this game. The Angels are pretty strong favorites and I lean that way due to the pitching matchup. I also like the under 9.5 getting a plus price with it. Instead of taking the expensive price with the Angels ML, I will go with the contrarian under with plus money.
Pick: Under 9.5 (+100)
8:30pm cst: Chicago White Sox (-155) vs. Oakland Athletics (+135)
Tanner Banks is a massive favorite tonight against the A’s. The Athletics are cold and so is Luis Medina. The most noticeable line here thought is the total of 9 juiced under. I like this one to go over with these pitchers on the mound.
Pick: Over 9 (+100)
9:00pm cst: Tampa Bay Rays (-135) vs. Seattle Mariners (+115)
I am a big Bryce Miller fan but the Mariners are not trending too well currently. Shane McClanahan has the best ERA in baseball and this is such a short price for him. I have to take the Rays on principle.
Pick: Rays (-135)
