After our exceptional run during Champions League, we are back for Euro 2024! We did not have plays for the qualifiers due to our focus on the College Baseball Tournament. Now, it’s time to lock in. We only have one match on Day 1 but all of our futures will be posted before the tournament begins.
11:00AM CST: France (-425) vs. Poland (+1100); Total 2.5
Group D is still a tight one with the top three teams are either tied or down by one point. Poland has been eliminated but France still needs a result to insure they advance. With as much talent as France has, history reminds us that France has not won a final group stage match in their last 8 attempts (D4, L4). Mbappe is back in the starting lineup so that might help. Poland isn’t in good shape either. Kante has been carrying France in this tournament in my opinion. No Griezmann for France in the starting lineup either. I expect Poland to play for pride especially with Lewandowski starting at striker. I do not like this France lineup or the way they have looked. I really don’t like Griezmann out of the starting XI.

Austria has probably been one of the most impressive teams in this tournament. I’m expecting Austria to keep pressing. Netherlands has shown excellent defense. Both teams have the opportunity to win this Group so I do not expect them to kick the ball around conservatively for 90 minutes. Having the upper hand on France would be massive for either side. I’m going with my first gut instincts.

2:00PM CST: England (-330) vs. Slovenia (+950); Total 2.5
England has not looked as good as the talent they put on the field. Slovenia has battled their way to scoring two draws. With any points they should be able to advance. It will not be easy though as England will be wanting some sort of momentum earning their way to the knockout stage. I think Slovenia continues to play feisty defense. I also wouldn’t count out Slovenia and the confidence and momentum they have coming into this match. Slovenia may smell blood in the water especially if England overlook’s their opponent.

Denmark has been great for us in this tournament and have played strong against all competitors. Serbia have been up and down but still have given themselves a chance to advance. I am expecting another tight defensive contest. It’s win or bust for the Serbs. Denmark cannot afford to lose so they will still push to get a goal before parking the bus.
