NCAA Tournament Play-In Wednesday

After a long season we have finally made it to the NCAA Tournament play-in games with the Big Dance on the horizon. Going into today our record on the season is: (140-140-3) including NCAA Tournament record (2-0) with our goal to finish above 52%. Let’s get after it!

• [ROT #672]: Fairleigh Dickinson Knights (+2.5) vs. Texas Southern Tigers; 5:40pm cst

This is an interesting game because Texas Southern is almost like the seasoned First Four veteran squad who plays in Dayton almost every year. Fairleigh Dickinson is new here but they will be bringing their offense. TSU (yes, famous for the Drake song) does not have much of an offense but leans more on the defensive side of the ball. Fairleigh Dickinson can shoot the 3PT and has a much better offensive efficiency than the Tigers do. I rather trust offense here down the stretch with FDU than with TSU if this game goes down to the wire. Neither of teams shoot FTs very well either. FDU with the slight edge.

• [ROT #704]: Nevada Wolf Pack (+2.5) vs. Arizona State Sun Devils; 8:10pm cst

Both of these teams are extremally lucky to be in this field but only one can advance. I give that edge to the Nevada Wolf Pack. They have much better scoring and play makers. ASU offense can become extremely stagnant if the 3PT is not falling. If ASU can force turnovers they have a chance. Nevada has veteran guards that can score and take care of the basketball. Nevada is also one of the best FT shooting teams in the country. You never know which ASU team is going to show up. The same can be said about Nevada but I trust them a little more and their offense to get things going especially if the going gets rough.
