College Hoops Conference Tournaments

It’s March, time for conference tournaments before the NCAA Tournament. The last opportunity for schools to punch their ticket to the Big Dance. As we previously discussed, we will be handicapping the conferences we have been watching closely all season. Going into today’s games our record on the season is: (124-125-3) with our goal to finish above 52%. Let’s get after it!

  • [ROT #604]: Loyola-Chicago Ramblers vs. Saint Joseph’s Hawks (-1.5); 1:00pm

I don’t think having Sister Jean in the building will be enough to help the Ramblers in this one. St. Joe’s has had the Ramblers’ number all year with two dominating performances. This is a short number I was not expecting. Joe’s cooled off to end the season but I expect them to bounce back here.

  • [ROT #607]: Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (-2) vs. Florida State Seminoles; 1:00pm

Unlike the Seminoles this Georgia Tech team finished the season on a strong note winning and covering its last three games. The Seminoles struggle on the road, a neutral floor and anytime they are away from home. FSU may be ready to pack in the season and GT looking to end on a high note. Backing the Rambling Wreck here.

  • [ROT #609]: Louisville Cardinals (+6) vs. Boston College Eagles; 3:30pm

If you stay away from this game I do not blame you. A couple ACC bottom dwellers battle it out. Louisville has burned us two games in a row I think vs. GT and VT. Looking over the box score from when these two met earlier in the year and it was a dead even game at BC. The difference was Louisville had 19 turnovers and allowed BC to shoot 21 free throws to its 6. If Louisville can cut down on the turnovers I think they can keep this close and maybe win.

  • [ROT #X]: Gonzaga Bulldgos (-3.5) vs. St. Mary’s Gaels; 8:00pm

The Zags matchup again with the Gaels in the WCC Conference Championship game. Gonzaga is the better team and I feel they roll here and cover this number as the head into the NCAA Tournament.
