College Hoops Super Tuesday

Trayce Jackson-Davis and the Indiana Hoosiers host the Rutgers Scarlet Knights after defeating Purdue on Saturday.

We are officially on a hot streak with 3 straight winning days. We start today 0-0 though. Can’t get lazy or complacent. We have plenty of good matchups tonight too. Let’s get after it! Also, we’ll be trying to stream for the games so check us out & follow! DDSN Twitch

Marquette Golden Eagles (+4.5) vs. UCONN Huskies; total 147.5; 5:30pm ct

Gonnng! Yall know what that means. We are again bangin’ the UCONN is overrated and overvalued gong. When these two met earlier this year UCONN was favored by 2.5 on the road and now its 4 points. Marquette has been on a tear and are still getting disrespected with this line. UCONN has the size advantage but if Marquette can force turnovers they will win this game. UCONN can also shoot the 3PT when they get hot but they have trouble putting together 2 full halves of basketball. UCONN hasn’t proved they can play with the best of the Big East. They need to prove us otherwise.

Rutgers Scarlet Knights vs. Indiana Hoosiers (-4); total 135.5; 5:30pm ct

Trayce Jackson-Davis and the Hoosiers proved they can beat one of the best teams in the country by besting Zach Edey and Purdue. Now can they prove they are for real and not drop a hangover game against Rutgers? I think so. We know Rutgers is a different team on the road and Indiana is a powerhouse in Assembly Hall. Jackson Davis is playing out of his mind and so are the Hoosiers. Give me the flaming hot Hoosiers at home.

Dayton Flyers vs. VCU Rams (-4); total 129.5; 6:00pm ct

Dayton has been on quite the tumble from being 1st place in the Atlantic 10 since they lost to VCU at home. We were on VCU on the road in that game and we are going back to the well with the Rams. The spread is 4 in some spot and up to 5 in other and I’m comfortable with that. Last year VCU was destroyed by Dayton at home - I remember because I was on VCU that night. I haven’t forgotten and I’m betting the Rams haven’t either. I really like how VCU is playing on defense and the offense is led by Ace Baldwin Jr. who is hotter than a Texas pavement.

Auburn Tigers vs. Texas A&M Fightin’ Aggies (-3); total 140.5; 6:00pm ct

I can hear the Reed Arena rockin’' already. The Aggies are playing great defense especially at home. The Aggies can’t slip up because they continue to be projected out of the tournament. Auburn has lost its last two road games against formidable opponents: Tennessee and West Virginia. The Aggies also have Auburn’s number. Those that have been following along, you know we love the tough Aggie defense especially at home. In Boots we trust but if A&M doesn’t cover we will permanently remove “Fightin’” from the Aggies name until further notice.

Ole Miss Rebels vs. Georgia Bulldogs (-1.5); total 137.5; 6:00pm ct

This is another complete fade of the Ole Miss Rebels. Rebels got close to defeating Vandy on Saturday. Georgia is on such a cold streak but they can beat teams lesser talented than them. When the Rebs faced Vandy the spread was 4 and this spread is down to 1.5 so this is also a great number play. Give me the Bulldogs to bounce back.

Maryland Terrapins vs. Michigan State Spartans (-3); total 131.5; 8:00pm ct

This is a huge spot for the Spartans coming off a brutal stretch on the road. Maryland is finally going on the road after hitting its stride as of late taking advantage of its home games. This is an Izzo game. Short number and I’ve seen this movie last year when Maryland was getting about 10 points on the road and MSU absolutely blasted them. Izzo hasn’t let us down yet at home. Let’s ride the Izzone again.

Nevada Wolf Pack vs. New Mexico Lobos (-4); total 148.5; 9:30pm ct

Nevada has been a juggernaut at home but now they must play at The Pit in New Mexico. Must win game for the Lobos after dropping one to Utah State. We normally see the home teams in the late night Mountain West games be successful. Two weeks ago Nevada was favored at home by 3.5 points and won by 3. That game went to double OT and should have gone into a third. New Mexico had 19 turnovers compared to Nevada’s 9. They also made 8 three’s on the road. I like New Mexico in this game. It’s a must win if they want to go dancing. This is a late add so we have an odd number of official plays. Posted on Twitter to confirm 4:33pm ct.

Other highlighted games:

North Carolina Tar Heels (-1) vs. Wake Forest Demon Deacons; total 153; 6:00pm

The Tar Heels are coming off a loss to rival Duke on Saturday and they may have a road game hangover like Duke did last night. This is a perfect spot for Wake as they try to claw their way back into the ACC picture and secure an NCAA Tournament bid. Tyree Appleby is playing on another level for the Demon Deacons. If Wake can keep Armando Bacot off the boards I see WF winning this game.

St. John’s Red Storm vs. Butler Bulldogs (-1.5); total 144.5; 7:30pm ct

Both of these teams are just struggling so bad especially the Johnnies. Butler was dealing with injury issues and can’t get back on track. St. John’s really has no excuse for its slump. They have talent and Joel Soriano who will be playing in the NBA. This particular Johnnies team I feel plays too fast for their own good and commit too many turnovers. Can’t back my Johnnies here at Hinkle Fieldhouse. Pass.

North Carolina State vs. Virginia Cavaliers (-7.5); total 136.5; 8:00pm ct

Virginia just lost on the road to Virginia Tech. You know they’ll be focused for this one. NCST is only 1 game out of 1st place in the ACC standings. I haven’t watched NCST enough to trust them to score on the road. Pass for me not enough information here.

TCU Horned Frogs vs. Kansas State Wildcats (-4.5); total 147.5; 8:00pm ct

Two great Big 12 teams are coming off losses and meet in the Little Apple. TCU is dealing with some huge injury issues with big man Eddie Lampkin and Mike Miles Jr. on the mend. An injured TCU will not be ready for a K-State team off two losses. TCU is laying 4.5 and Oklahoma State laid 4 against TCU on Saturday. I really like Kansas State in a get right spot against an injured Horned Frogs team.

Arkansas Razorbacks vs. Kentucky Wildcats (-5.5); total 140; 8:00pm ct

Every home game for Kentucky the books have been hanging a 5 on these games, which has been spot on. Arkansas somehow still has not figured out how to play together. They don’t bring it on the road with a team full of NBA talent. Maybe they break out when the tournament starts but still this team has so much potential but they can’t defend or win big games. I don’t like this number and I can’t trust Arkansas on the road. I do like healthy Kentucky but not over 5 points here.

Colorado State vs. Air Force (-1); total 133.5; 8:00pm ct

This is an interesting Mountain West game. Earlier in the season Air Force won by 11 points. Air Force shot the lights out of the ball and they out rebounded Colorado State 39 to 25. 3PT and Rebounding the only team in the country that screws that up is UCONN. Was hoping this game was at 10pm for a late add. I like Air Force and its patient offense. If they can rebound they’ll win.

San Jose State Spartans vs. Fresno State Bulldogs (-3.5); total 126; 9:00pm ct

Another low key Mountain West game that should be a good one. Both teams are coming off nice wins over the weekend. Fresno State and its offense was out of its mind in Vegas Saturday. SJSU won its game in blowout fashion defeating a Wyoming team they haven’t been able to beat the Cowboys in its last 10 meetings. If Fresno State guards Jemarl Baker and Isaiah Hill play like they did against UNLV the Bulldogs will be successful and will cover this game.
