Creighton Blue Jays vs. Providence Friars (+1); total 140.5; 6:00pm ct
These two are at the top of the Big East battling it out to get closer to the 1st place spot. This first time these two matched up it was a tale of two halves. Creighton with a strong 1H and Providence with the strong 2H. The Friars outrebounded Creighton 44 to 29. It was the Friars poor shooting that cost them the game that day. “The Dunk” will be rockin’ tonight where the Friars have yet to lose this season. I like this bounce back spot for Providence after losing 2 of its last 3 games.
NC State Wolf Pack vs. Syracuse Orange Men (-1); total 148.5; 6:00pm ct
Syracuse has won two games in a row after a rough stretch but now they look to try and cement their names in the NCAA Tournament conversation. I say this every week I feel like but Syracuse is underrated this season. NCST has had a good season but the Pack struggle on the road. Syracuse has historically given them fits especially at home. The ‘Cuse are led by senior guard Joseph Girard and stud freshman Judah Mintz who have carried them all season. Syracuse has Duke on deck but this game is more important as NC State is higher in the ACC standings than Duke so I expect no look ahead issues. Give me the Orange Men at home. NC State also has North Carolina next.
Kansas Jayhawks vs. Oklahoma State Cowboys (+1.5); total 140; 8:00pm
Don’t look now but them Cowboys from Stillwater, Oklahoma are only 1.5 games out of 1st place of the Big 12 standings. The Cowboys are on a 5 game winning streak and few are hotter than they are especially at home. The Cowboys will be without point guard Avery Anderson III for the foreseeable future, which is a big loss. Kansas is coming off a blowout win at Oklahoma on Saturday with a tough stretch of OSU and Baylor coming up. Historically Kansas has had Oklahoma State’s number but I think this is a game where OSU keeps the winning streak going with the help of a raucous crowd.
St. John’s Red Storm (-1.5) vs. DePaul Blue Demons; total 157.5; 8:00pm ct
The Johnnies just upset Providence Friars at home on Saturday and now must get back up to face a fellow Big East bottom dweller DePaul to keep the wins coming. If Mike Anderson wants to salvage the Johnnies season this is a must win game. I trust the Red Storm tonight to get a win, where they historically play well against the Blue Demons.
Kansas State Wildcats (Pick) vs. Oklahoma Sooners; total 141; 8:00pm ct
If K-State isn’t careful they will end up dropping a bad game to a Sooners team that is freefalling at an incredible rate. The Wildcats have loss 3 of its last 4 games while the Sooners have loss their last 8 of 10 games. Who gets off the mat first? I’m willing to bet the better team with the better defense will. K-State needs this game before they get left in the Big 12 dust and draw a poor NCAA Tournament seed.
