College Hoops Big Monday

College Basketball’s 2nd all time leading scorer Antoine Davis and the Detroit Mercy Titans host a hungry Oakland Golden Grizzlies squad tonight.

We had a great day in the Big Ten yesterday going (3-0) but a couple late meltdowns in the AAC with Cincinnati and SMU cost us two losses. We finished with a winning day (3-2) and move up to 49% on the season. Let’s jump into this Big Monday:

Wisconsin Badgers (+3) vs. Northwestern Wildcats; total 122.5; 5:30pm ct

Northwestern had both of its games last week postponed due to Covid outbreak within the team. Unsure of which players specifically but I would imagine most were unable to practice for the past week. Badgers snapped their 3 game losing streak with a home win against Penn State. With the uncertainty of NW and its conditioning I will take the points with the Badgers. Wisky lost 3 in a row to some of the best teams in the Big 10 so I don’t agree with this number. Go Badgers.

Duke Blue Devils vs. Virginia Tech Hokies (-2); total 137.5; 6:00pm ct

We have another rat trap game here with the Hokies hosting the Blue Devils. The Hokies have had the Blue Devils’ number lately especially at home. VT is 5-1 against the spread at home vs. Duke its last 6 games played. Duke has not covered a game on the road yet this season either. VT just lost to Clemson on a last second buzzer beater 3PT. Give me Va Tech here in a classic rat trap spot. Will we get caught or take the cheese?

Oakland Golden Grizzles (+4) vs. Detroit Mercy Titans; total 154.5; 6:00pm ct

I don’t know if you’ve heard but Detroit’s Antoine Davis has moved up to #2 in NCAAB all time scoring list trailing only “Pistol” Pete Maravich. Detroit has been hot but now they face Oakland who has had the Titan’s number recently. Oakland is 8-1 ATS the last nine games. I’ll take a shot here with the dog in what looks to be an over valued Detroit Mercy side at home.

#17 Kansas Jayhawks vs. #20 Baylor Bears (-1.5); total 149; 8:00pm ct

The Kansas Jayhawks went from #1 in the 24 Pack standings then dropped two games in a row. Kansas played two extremely close games before that against OU and Iowa State. The Baylor Bears are heading in the opposite direction with a 4 game winning streak. Baylor hasn’t had the best success against Kansas most recently going 3-13 ATS vs. the Jayhawks at home. I’ll take the hotter team in Baylor tonight with Keyonte George.

#22 New Mexico Lobos vs. Nevada Wolf Pack (-3.5); total 147.5; 8:00pm ct

Newly ranked New Mexico is coming off of an OT win vs. Boise State in a crazy matchup. Boise State beat up on Nevada the game before that. Nevada has had almost a week of rest while the Lobos have been battling. I like the home team here in a big Mountain West game. Wolf Pack in a nice bounce back spot at home and the Lobos traveling after a dramatic Friday night in The Pit.
