College Baseball Showdown Day 2:
Elijah Nunez Jr. from Arlington, Texas finished 3/5, 2R, 1 2B, 4 RBI carrying the Horned Frogs over the #4 Vanderbilt Commodores
What a great 1st day full of action at Globe Life Field highlighted by Arlington, Texas’ own Elijah Nunez Jr. for TCU. Nunez lead a comeback win over the #4 Vanderbilt Commodores hitting 3/5, 2R, 1 2B, 4 RBI. We had a ticket on Vanderbilt (-145) basing it on SP Carter Holton being able to take the Commodores deep into the game. Holton only pitched 3.2 innings allowing 4 hits, 2 earned runs with 4 strike outs. Vandy’s ace was pulled from the game and TCU went off for 9 runs running away with the victory. In the first game of the day Oklahoma State jumped all over Missouri and held on to win 5-3. Tigers managed two more hits than OSU but it was Roc Riggio’s 1-4 2 RBI performance that made the difference. In game #3, Arkansas and UT were in a pitching battle until the 7th inning came around where all the action happened. Hagen Smith and Lucas Gordon impressed in their season pitching debuts but it was Kendall Diggs that came through in the clutch for the Razorbacks. Diggs smacked a 2 run single with the bases loaded in the 7th that opened up the scoring. Arkansas closed up the game winning 3-2. Top teams in the SEC and Big 12 with some great battles. Now on to Saturday!

College Baseball Showdown at Globe Life Field, Arlington, Texas:
#15 Oklahoma State Cowboys (-110) vs. Vanderbilt Commodores (-120); 11:00am ct
Oklahoma State is off an impressive win while Vanderbilt suffered a meltdown after its ace was taken out of the game. The Cowboys will be starting highly touted freshman prospect LHP Brennan Phillips paired with a strong Cowboys offense. The Vanderbilt offense was a one man show Friday. Sophomore Jonathan Vastine hit 3/4, 1 R, 1 RBI, 1 HR carrying the offense the best he could. Top prospect Enrique Bradfield Jr. led off for the Commodores but only managed 1 RBI on a sacrifice fly. Vandy will be starting LHP Hunter Owen who only started 1 game and will be coming off an injury. I wish we were getting a plus price with the Cowboys here (that may change) but I like this OSU offense and want to back this freshman SP.
Pick: Oklahoma State (-110); $100 bet to win $90.91
Missouri Tigers (+175) vs. Texas Longhorns (-205); 3:00pm ct
The Longhorns will be starting 6’4” RHP Zane Morehouse today against the Tigers. I cannot find any info on who’s starting for Missouri - I am going to assume (always dangerous) it will be junior RHP Austin Troesser. He started 7 games posting an impressive 3.64 ERA. For me the handicap is again fading the UT offense away from Disch-Falk Field. Morehouse also struggled last season in 6 starts he posted a 6.00 ERA allowing 26 earned runs in those 20 appearances. SP Lucas Gordon carried the Longhorns last night. This Mizzou offense can score with the best of um and they proved that yesterday. I’m taking a shot here with the Tigers.
Pick: Mizzou (+175); $100 to win $175
TCU Horned Frogs (+140) vs. Arkansas Razorbacks (-170); 7:00pm ct
TCU had a great win against Vanderbilt and so did Arkansas with a strong pitching performances. I was ready to fade TCU off of that huge offensive explosion yesterday but Arkansas at -170 is too steep. I try not to play anything over 160. I can’t find any information on who is starting for either team. This is a pass for me unless this number gets down to -160 or better.
Pick: NA
