College Baseball Super Regionals Day 1

Super Regionals Record: (0.00 units)

We were having a decent Regionals run until Sunday where the afternoon went to shit. We may have been a tad too aggressive but it was just one of those days. Every favorite we had lost outright and every dog we had got smashed. Couldn’t buy one Sunday afternoon. Now, it’s Super Regionals time to make up some ground. We have plenty riding on our futures, we added Super Regional plays and the daily matchups. There will be plays on a side and total for each game.

Regionals Recap & Scouting Reports Part I

Regionals Recap & Scouting Reports Part II

  • 11:00AM CST: UConn Huskies (+190) vs. Florida State Seminoles (-250); Total 11.5

Carson Dorsey will be getting the start for the Seminoles in Game 1, which means we will see Jamie Arnold in Game 2. Can UConn pitching continue to dominate for the Huskies? The offense did just enough to win the Norman Regional but the pitching is what carried the team. The Seminoles have an explosive offense so it will be no easy task. I still like the Seminoles. I just don’t have faith the Huskies can keep this going but I could be wrong.

Play: Florida State -1.5 (-130) [via DraftKings]

Play: UNDER 11.5 (-110) [via DraftKings]

  • 2:00PM CST: Evansville Purple Aces (+450) vs. Tennessee Volunteers (-720); Total 13.5

Tennessee is the #1 overall seed and they will be playing the largest underdog of the tournament that is currently still alive. This Evansville team is no fluke. They boast a powerful offense that can keep them in any game. The Volunteers are laying 4.5 runs in this one and that might be too many. Both teams’ pitching depth will be tested in this series. We have a couple tickets on the Vols to win it all as well. I’m choosing the ride this Purple Aces magic along with their offense.

Play: Evansville +4.5 (+105) [via DraftKings]

Play: OVER 13.5 (-115) [via DraftKings]

  • 5:00PM CST: West Virginia Mountaineers (+220) vs. North Carolina Tar Heels (-298); Total 11.5

Like UConn, I think that West Virginia is a fortunate team that I think will sputter out in this Super. The Mountaineers were in the weakest Regional in Tucson but they had great success. I was surprised. I don’t think that continues against one of the best teams in the country, the North Carolina Tar Heels. I like the Tar Heels to roll.

Play: North Carolina -2.5 (-120) [via DraftKings]

Play: OVER 11.5 (-105) [via DraftKings]

  • 6:00PM CST: Kansas State Wildcats (+240) vs. Virginia Cavaliers (-330); Total 13.5

Kansas State has one of the hottest offenses in the country right now. They dominated every team they faced in Fayetteville and now face the Cavaliers. Virginia had some solid competition but in my opinion, they were not impressive. Mississippi State blew their first game against the Cavaliers and never showed back up. This series will come down to offenses. I like K-State as they are still being underrated.

Play: Kansas State (+240) [via DraftKings]

Play: Kansas State +3.5 (-135) [via DraftKings]

Play: OVER 13.5 (-115) [via DraftKings]

Super Regional Winners:

  • Athens Regional: Georgia Bulldogs (-150) - We have the Dawgs to win it all. NC State is a great team but I give UGA the edge playing at home.

  • Bryan-College Station Regional: Oregon Ducks (+300) - Oregon just went through a California gauntlet. I don’t think they will be phased by the College Station crowd. The Ducks have elite pitching that matches up with the Aggies. At +300 I cannot pass on this Ducks team that is hitting their stride at the right time.

  • Charlottesville Regional: Kansas State Wildcats (+220) - Yes, the Cavaliers are humming right now. I still think they had one of the easier Regionals. Kansas State played some tough teams and their offense is on fire right now. I am taking the underdog price.

  • Clemson Regional: Clemson Tigers (-160) - Clemson might finally be able to put together a Super Regional win and make it back to Omaha. Florida is as hot as anybody after winning in Stillwater but can they keep it up? I like how Clemson handled themselves at home.

  • Lexington Regional: Oregon State Beavers (+100) - I am still not a believer in Kentucky. They sure did prove me wrong last weekend but now they will be stepping up in competition. The Beavers made quick work of their Regional. Both offenses are hot so I will take the dog price.
