College Baseball Conference Tournaments: Day 2
Conference Tournament Record: 5-6 (-2.57 units)
9:00AM CST: Kansas State Wildcats (+105) vs. West Virginia Mountaineers (-135);
I really thought West Virginia would bounce back after their debacle last season when they went winless in the Big 12 Tournament after winning a share of the regular season title. This is close to a toss up and I’ll take K-State. West Virginia used up a few of their bullpen arms against TCU. Kansas State is still a strong team looking to get locked into the NCAA Tournament after being snubbed last season.
Play: Kansas State (+105) [via DraftKings]
9:30AM CST: LSU Tigers (-125) vs. Kentucky Wildcats (-105);
The defending National Champion LSU Tigers are fighting for their NCAA Tournament lives. Kentucky has been great all year but I would rather buy on the hot and hungry team.
Play: LSU (-125) [via DraftKings]
10:00AM CST: Virginia Cavaliers (-140) vs. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (+110);
This feels like a very short price to me with the Virginia Cavaliers especially with LHP Evan Blanco on the mound. We faded the GT pitching yesterday and we will be doing the same again. Give me Blanco and the Cavaliers at this price all day. I’ll take my chances.
Play: Virginia (-140) [via DraftKings]
12:30PM CST: TCU Horned Frogs (+120) vs. Oklahoma Sooners (-150); Total 10
It’s tournament time so beware any team that is looking to get hot. That is the TCU Horned Frogs. They started the season on fire but tailed off and I think they are back. Oklahoma has been the class of the Big 12 this year but getting TCU at this price with their best pitcher on the mound, I’m biting. I think TCU can get hot like they did last season in the Big 12 Tournament then marched their way to Omaha.
Play: TCU (+120) [via DraftKings]
1:00PM CST: South Carolina Gamecocks (+105) vs. Arkansas Razorbacks (-135); Total 11
The Gamecocks were on a seven game losing streak just to have an offensive barrage on the Alabama Crimson Tide. Will South Caroline be able to replicate the performance? I’m betting NO against Arkansas.
Play: Arkansas (-135) [via DraftKings]
2:00PM CST: Pitt Panthers (+200) vs. Wake Forest Demon Deacons (-270); Total 12.5
Wake Forest comes into this game after being swept by the NC State Wolfpack. Pitt has been up and down this season but not terrible. David Falco will be on the mound for the Deacs and he has struggled his last couple games. Instead of playing the total over, I will take the runs with the Panthers as they have the talent to stay close.
Play: Pitt +2.5 (-120) [via DraftKings]
3:30PM CST: UTSA Roadrunners (-150) vs. Florida Atlantic Owls (+120); Total 12
UTSA’s season is on the line. They dominated the Owls last weekend. I am expecting a big game from UTSA. Fading FAU has been doing wonders for us as well. Huge game.
Play: UTSA (-150) [via DraftKings]
Play: UTSA -1.5 (-105) [via DaftKings]
4:00PM CST: Texas Longhorns (-238) vs. Cincinnati Bearcats (+180); Total 11
Texas’ offense looked strong against Texas Tech but the pitching failed them with a three run homer that tied the game. I think the Texas offense continues to stay hot and the Bearcats will not be able to keep pace.
Play: Texas -2.5 (+110) [via DraftKings]
4:30PM CST: Vanderbilt Commodores (+160) vs. Tennessee Volunteers (-210); Total 11.5
I’m going out on a limb with this one. Tennessee will be starting Nate Snead who has been great this year but he faced Vandy twice only 10 days ago. He didn’t allow any runs but the second time Vandy faced Snead they were able to get five hits off of him. The underdogs have been on a roll so far in the SEC. I’ll take a shot in this rivalry game with the Vandy Boys.
Play: Vanderbilt (+160) [via DraftKings]
6:00PM CST: NC State Wolfpack (-150) vs. Virginia Tech Hokies (+120); Total 13
Just about the same story as last night with Virginia Tech. They have a strong offense but no pitching. The top of the ACC has been dominant thus far. NC State just finished a sweep of Wake Forest last weekend. We are riding the better, hotter team.
Play: NC State (-150) [via DraftKings]
7:30PM CST: Texas Tech Red Raiders (+154) vs. Oklahoma State Cowboys (-200); Total 10.5
The underdogs continue to cash in victories in the Big 12 except for the Oklahoma Sooners. The Texas Tech Red Raiders have their back against the wall. OSU has been great all year but I am taking a shot with the underdog. The Tech offense and team got a bolt of energy taking down the Longhorns. I think they can stay hot.
Play: Texas Tech (+154) [via DraftKings]
9:00PM CST: Santa Clara Broncos (-166) vs. Gonzaga Bulldogs (+130); Total 15
We might be getting a discounted price here with Gonzaga. The Zags are on a five game losing streak but they swept Santa Clara earlier this season. Like South Carolina (7 game losing streak), maybe the tournament setting will spark Gonzaga. It’s worth the late night action at plus money.
Play: Gonzaga (+130) [via DraftKings]
