Champions League Tuesday

Kylian Mbappé and Paris Saint-Germain host Bayern Munich in the Champions League Round of 16.

After a long break due to the World Cup, Champions League is back. We have two big games to watch today: AC Milan from Serie A in Italy vs. Tottenham from the English Premier League. Also, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) from the Ligue 1 in France vs. Bayern Munich of Germany’s Budesliga. We will witness great players today especially in the PSG vs. Bayern Munich match. Let’s get into these games!

Paris Saint-Germain vs. FC Bayern Munich; total 3; 2:00pm ct

This game will be played at Pac Des Prices in Paris. PSG have been recently injured and have not showed strong form in Ligue 1 competition. This is mostly likely is attributed to the injuries that PSG has been dealing with that includes Mbappé and Lionel Messi. Both are expected to start in this home match. The PSG manager earlier this week noted that he is, “worried” about his squad in this 1st leg due to the team being ravaged with injuries. Not a good sign. On the other side, Bayern will be without striker Sadio Mane and goal keeper Manuel Neuer. It’s hard to ever play an under with these two squads. If the injuries are as bad as they are made out to be then it’s hared to put a finger on how this game will play out. The game could get broken wide open or PSG could just sit down back trying to defend. I will go over here even though history says under. I think PSG will come out swinging trying to get goals as they are the home team in the 1st leg. I also will be playing the home team here with the best player in the world, Mbappé due to the reason stated above. I think PSG will be pushing for goals and a win - the price is also nice for a home team in a game that may be even.

Pick: PSG +190 & Over 3 (-107) goals

AC Milan vs. Tottenham Hotspur FC; total 2.5; 2:00pm ct

We now turn to Italy where AC Milan will host Tottenham at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milano. Neither team has been in good recent form. AC Milan just snapped a 5 game winless streak (2 D, 3 L) and Tottenham has lost its past 3 of 5 Premier League games. Milan is a great home team and Tottenham tends to struggle away from home. Tottenham also has major injuries to deal with by losing midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur this weekend. Goal keeper Hugo Lloris is also not expected to play and neither will Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg due to yellow cards. Tottenham’s manager Antonio Conte will be making the trip back to his home country of Italy and where he was manager before his current position. Rumors have been swirling that he may return to AC Milan after this season if Milan is continuing to struggle in Serie A with the possibility of missing Champions League next season. Plenty of intrigue in this game. AC Milan is on a Champions League run having its past 5 fixtures being decided by at least two goals in wins or losses, which is why I like the over in this game but didn’t pull the trigger on it. I also prefer to back AC Milan at home to win this game behind striker Olivier Giroud. Milan to win and over is correlated so I’m going that route.

AC Milan +148
