Yesterday we went 1-2 with PSG losing at home to Bayern Munich. Mbappé sat out the first half but when he entered the game in the 2H he was a game changer. PSG was able to pressure the Germans and scored twice but after VAR both goals were taken off the board. To me, it did not look like PSG gained an advantage on those play but nonetheless we take the loss. Today we have a new slate so let’s jump into it!

Club Brugge VK vs. SL Benfica; total 2.5; 2:00pm ct

Club Brugge has struggled mightily since the World Cup break but will host SL Benfica in its 1st leg of Round of 16 play. They have not earned a victory in its last 9 outings (6 D, 2 L). Brugge relies on its strong defense to keep them in games and they will be expecting the same today. Benfica on the other hand has been in great for winning 5 or its last 6 with 1 draw. Benfica lost one of its best players in Enzo Fernandez who now plays for Chelsea. Benfica may struggle on offense without Enzo and when you factor in Brugge’s strong defense, I like the under here.

Pick: Under 2.5 (-135)

Chelsea FC vs. Borussia Dortmund; total 2.5; 2:00pm ct

Chelsea has made plenty of moves to try and turn the clubs season around but so far it has not paid any dividends. Chelsea has been in awful form its last 10 games only winning two of those fixtures. Now they must travel on the road and face a hot team in Dortmund. Borussia Dortmund cannot take this Chelsea team lightly because Chelsea does have plenty of talent and Dortmund has not won in its past 11 outings against English competition (3 D , 9 L). I’ll take the German side at home in better form.
