After we took a Champions League break due to the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament (where we were very successful) we jump back into futbol with Champions League. We are down to eight teams left in the first leg of the quarter-finals. Let’s jump back in!

S.L. Benfica (+120) vs. Internazionale (+245) ; total 2.5; 2:00pm cst

Benfica is coming off a loss to FC Porto in league play but that was its first loss in its last 10 matches. Benfica is a squad in great form especially at home in Champions League play where they hold a 3-1 record. On the other hand there is Intern who has struggled lately by only winning 3 matches in its last 10. Not a great form. They are a squad that has been keeping the total low in its matches whether they are playing at home or away. I like the home squad here in better form and for this game to go under. I see a 1-0 or 2-0 final.

Pick: Benfica (+120) & Total Under 2.5 (-135)

Manchester City (-165) vs. Bayern Munchen (+425); total 2.5, 3 (+105); 2:00pm cst

City is on an incredible undefeated run but Bayern will travel to the Ethiad to try and put an end to it. Thomas Tuchel knows what it takes to defeat Man City but will the German side be able to get the job done? Pep Guardiola and City have made easy work with the German sides they have faced in the past. I feel like this game will go under the total because it is the 1st leg. I like betting under in the first leg and then coming back with overs the 2nd leg. I like the home team in this one to keep the streak going but last night the price was (-135) much better than the -165 now. I don’t lay more than -160 (a good rule to have). I expect Bayern to give it their all on the road to try and keep it close as they play the 2nd leg at home which will give them an opportunity to advance.
