College Basketball Season Record: 219-215-13 — Betting 1 Unit to Win X
10:30am cst: Saint Joseph’s Hawks vs. Richmond Spiders -3.5; Total 140
I am not a fan of backing teams that win close games after making nine more three pointers than its opponent. Richmond has a strong defense that could give them issues. If Joe’s has another crazy game from the three point line, they’ll advance but the Spiders are a top 30 3PT shooting team, unlike George Mason who couldn’t shoot a watermelon into the ocean. This line moved late to -4, which I am guessing is due to Erik Reynolds (Joe’s) injury. The injury does not play a factor for us.
Pick: Richmond -3.5 (-110) [via DraftKings]
11:00am cst: Xavier Musketeers vs. UConn Huskies -15; Total 149
In my opinion, Xavier played its best game of the season last night. These Xavier guards are playing with nothing to lose. UConn has finally hit the time of the season they have been waiting for: March. I think these teams are going to get up and down the floor. UConn will be happy to engage in a track meet with Xavier. Fast is the only way Xavier has a shot in this one. Beware fearless guards in March.
Pick: OVER 149 (-105) [via DraftKings]
11:00am cst: Florida State Seminoles vs. North Carolina Tar Heels -10.5; Total 154.5
After Clemson’s collapse last night, our last ticket is on FSU 100/1. Florida State matches up well with the Tar Heels because of their depth, length and size. They will be tenacious on defense and on the glass. North Carolina is playing as good as anyone in the country but will Cormac Ryan have another phenomenal day from beyond the arc? I doubt it. Give me the Seminoles tenacity.
Pick: Florida State +10.5 (-108) [via DraftKings]
11:00am cst: Minnesota Golden Gophers vs. Michigan State Spartans -6.5; Total 137.5
Michigan State is on the bubble and a loss to the Golden Gophers may pop them. Minnesota has played the Spartans tough, splitting the series this year. This game will also be a “home” game for the Gophers in the Target Center (T-Wolves). I think these stingy Golden Gophers give the Spartans a run for their money.
Pick: Minnesota +6.5 (-108) [via DraftKings]
11:30pm cst: BYU Cougars -3 vs. Texas Tech Red Raiders; Total 153
BYU shot the lights out last night and it is always hard to imagine they can do that again. Earlier this year in a tournament they stayed hot the whole time. So, I am not too afraid of them running cold after a great game but it is always possible. I have not been impressed with Texas Tech lately. I’ll take my chances with BYU who might be playing its best basketball of the season right now. BYU lost the first meeting after blowing a 20+ point lead in Lubbock. Time for revenge.
Pick: BYU -3 (-108) [via DraftKings]
11:30pm cst: Tulsa Golden Hurricanes vs. ECU Pirates -2.5; Total 139.5
This is an interesting spread. This game is basically a dead even game. Neither team is good on the road. Tulsa has come on very late in the season. I think the Golden Hurricanes can steal a game here. ECU only has one scorer so if Tulsa can stop Nelson they will have success.
Pick: Tulsa +2.5 (-112) [via DraftKings]
12:00pm cst: LSU Tigers vs. Mississippi State Bulldogs -5; Total 145
Watching LSU all season I know they struggle offensively against good defenses. Mississippi State has a tough defense that should give the Tigers trouble. MSU is also on the bubble. They are probably safe but a loss to LSU opens up opportunities for teams to steal their bid. I love the Bulldogs defense in this game. LSU relies too heavily on the 3PT shot so MSU just needs to keep them off the three point line.
Pick: Mississippi State -5 (-112) [via DraftKings]
4:00pm cst: St. Bonaventure Bonnies vs. Loyola Chicago Ramblers -3; Total 137
Loyola-Chicago is on a tear and I think their tough defense will give the Bonnies some issues. The Bonnies were fortunate to get passed LaSalle last night.
Pick: Loyola-Chicago -3 (-118) [via DraftKings]
4:30pm cst: San Diego State Aztecs -4.5 vs. UNLV Runnin’ Rebels; Total 133.5
UNLV defeated SDST about a week ago and it being senior day contributed to that. San Diego State started ice cold and then dominated the game. I think SDST gets their revenge from that loss. I do not like this UNLV offense.
Pick: San Diego State -4.5 (-110) [via DraftKings]
5:30pm cst: Ohio State Buckeyes -2.5 vs. Iowa Hawkeyes; Total 153
Ohio State is red hot. Iowa is so up and down and you never know what you will get from them away from home. We are long on the Buckeyes. Let’s keep it going!
Pick: Ohio State -2.5 (-108) [via DraftKings]
5:30pm cst: UTEP Miners vs. Liberty Flames -3; Total 131
UTEP has played Liberty tough all season. If they can disrupt them with their physical, tough, pressing defense they could steal a game here.
Pick: UTEP +3 (-105) [via DraftKings]
6:00pm cst: Kansas State Wildcats vs. Iowa State Cyclones -8; Total 134.5
K-State is hot and they matchup well with ISU. ISU always gets a friendly whistle and they will have plenty of fans there. Too many points for a game K-State squad. These teams hate each other. Too many points.
Pick: Kansas State +8 (-110) [via DraftKings]
6:00pm cst: NC State Wolfpack vs. Duke Blue Devils -11; Total 146
NC State ran cold in the 2H at home against Duke. Duke dominated the glass. Did NC State use all of their good shooting last night against Syracuse? It’s very possible. I’m taking the double digits hoping NC State can guard the three point line and rebound the basketball. They can keep this close if they can rebound.
Pick: NC State +11 (-108) [via DraftKings]
6:00pm cst: Ole Miss Rebels vs. Texas A&M Aggies -4.5; Total 141
If you watched this matchup on Saturday you know that this Ole Miss team quit. They tried to make a comeback but they had too much trouble trying to grab rebounds. I have to back the Aggies in a must win situation plus I love the rebounding edge.
Pick: Texas A&M -4.5 (-112) [via DraftKings]
6:30pm cst: Duquesne Dukes vs. Dayton Flyers -7; Total 135
Duquesne shots lights out last game and still only won by 10. Dayton is rested and has dominated Duquesne recently having their number. I’ll lay it with Dayton.
Pick: Dayton -7 (-112) [via DraftKings]
8:00pm cst: Penn State Nittany Lions vs. Indiana Hoosiers -1.5; Total 146.5
Indiana has been hot to end the season but so has Penn State. Not only that but the Nittany Lions won both matchups over Indiana this year. I like this tough, hard nosed Penn State team to give Indiana trouble on a neutral field.
Pick: Penn State +1.5 (-110) [via DraftKings]
8:00pm cst: Colorado State Rams vs. Nevada Wolf Pack -3.5; Total 139
Nevada is red hot. Can Colorado play with them after struggling against them this season? I’ll take Nevada.
Pick: Nevada -3.5 (-108) [via DraftKings]
8:30pm cst: Villanova Wildcats vs. Marquette Golden Eagles -4; Total 140
Villanova just survived DePaul. Even if they blew out the Blue Demons I would still back Marquette here. Who knows what will happen with the weird bounces I’ve seen today. I trust the Golden Eagles to put this Nova team to rest.
Pick: Marquette -4 (-105) [via DraftKings]
8:30pm cst: Cincinnati Bearcats vs. Baylor Bears -7.5; Total 139.5
Bearcats have a field day against the Jayhawks’ junior high team. I will take the points here because of the size Cincinnati has. The rebounding edge the should have can keep this game close. Baylor could go crazy from three but Cinci has been playing tough at the end of the season.
Pick: Cincinnati +7.5 (-110) [via DraftKings]
8:30pm cst: Georgia Bulldogs vs. Florida Gators -8; Total 155.5
Georgia has played Florida tough all season. Florida has not been as red hot as they were about a month ago. It feels like too many points in a rivalry game. The Bulldogs will bounce back after having a bad game against Mizzou.
Pick: Georgia +8 (-110) [via DraftKings]
8:30pm cst: Boston College Eagles vs. Virginia Cavaliers -5.5; Total 123
I cannot go against this hot Boston College squad. A lot of pressure on Virginia. Eagles should be playing loose like they have all tournament.
Pick: Boston College +5.5 (-108) [via DraftKings]
