College Basketball Season Record: 52-47-3 — Betting 1 Unit to Win X
5:00pm cst: Charleston Cougars vs. Liberty Flames -4; Total 145
Liberty looked pedestrian last night and was embarrassed by the FAU Owls. We faded this overrated Charleston team at their own tournament and swept them. This is a perfect time to buy low on Liberty looking to bounce back after that game against FAU. This number is much too short.
Pick: Liberty -4 (-112) [via DraftKings]
6:00pm cst: Maryland Terrapins vs. Indiana Hoosiers -3; Total 136.5
This Maryland team is down compared to last season and the same goes for the Hoosiers. Indiana has impressed though. Something that Maryland has yet to do. The Hoosiers finally get Maryland at home with plenty of rest. I like the Hoosiers size under the basket and they should be able to take advantage of Maryland. Indiana also has the better offense but they will be tested by this Maryland defense. I’m backing the home team that can score in a jam.
Pick: Indiana -3 (-110) [via DraftKings]
6:00pm cst: George Washington Colonial vs. South Carolina Gamecocks -8; Total 149.5
The Gamecocks are off to a hot start to the season but they might be looking passed this underrated GW team with undefeated rival Clemson on the horizon. Georg Washington can score and are picking up where they left off last season. This feels like too many points in a look ahead spot. I will take my chance with the road team flying under the radar.
Pick: George Washington +8 (-110) [via DraftKings]
6:00pm cst: St. John’s Red Storm -5 vs. West Virginia Mountaineers; Total 141
This will be Rick Pitino and the Johnnies first game on the road this season. The Mountaineers have great size to compete with St. Johns on the boards. If WVU can win the rebounding battle then I expect them to have success. St. Johns does not have that great of an offense just yet so if West Virginia plays good defense they will have the edge. Home teams have been red hot so let’s hope that continues here.
Pick: West Virginia +5 (-115) [via DraftKings]
8:00pm cst: UCONN Huskies vs. Kansas Jayhawks -2.5; Total 148.5
Kansas has been up and down in my opinion. They defeated Tennessee but we do not rate the Vols that high and UCONN is out #1 team in the country. We know Kansas will be getting the friendly whistle at home as well. I am not sure Hunter Dickinson and Kansas will be ready for the 7 footer tag team the Huskies will have. They are constant and relentless on the glass. For this reason I want to back the Huskies but something tells me Kansas will finally snap the Huskies winning streak. My gut tells me Kansas because they are at home. We’ll see how this plays out.
Pick: Kansas -2.5 (-110) [via DraftKings]
8:00pm cst: Purdue Boilermakers -6 vs. Northwestern Wildcats; Total 134
This has gone from Purdue -7 to -5 and now -6. Northwestern matches up well against Purdue and it always helps that they are at home. As always, expect Purdue to have 50 FTs. If Northwestern can make some shots they can stay within this number. They know this is their Super Bowl I we can expect a strong outing from NW. Chris Collins is a great coach so let’s hope he can get the job done.
Pick: Northwestern +6 (-110) [via DraftKings]
9:30pm cst: St. Mary’s Gaels -3.5 vs. Boise State Broncos; Total 130
This is a neutral game but it will be in Idaho so it might as well be a home game for the Broncos. Boise has been decent but has not been getting the wins they have expected. We have been fading Boise and I do not think we dropped one game. St. Mary’s is not off to a great start. This might finally be the game Boise has been waiting for to grab a nice win. Time for us to back the Broncos.
Pick: Boise State +3.5 (-112) [via DraftKings]
