College Basketball Season Record: 77-75-7 — Betting 1 Unit to Win X

  • 6:00pm cst: Penn State Nittany Lions vs. Michigan State Wolverines -13.5; Total 146

Which Michigan State team will show up tonight? The one that has not won a Big 10 game yet or the team that shot 60% and blew out Baylor? Penn State is a solid team for bein under year one of a new coach with plenty of transfers. Michigan State on the other hand is an unknown. In my opinion they had high expectations with the returning veterans and great freshman class. Nothing MSU has done would warrant this line. Sparty can always get hot from three and cruise but they haven’t shown that’s their game. Penn State plays defense and will be able to pressure and frustrate MSU. Unless Michigan State shoots 55-60% I do not see them running away from this number.

Pick: Penn State +13.5 (-108) [via DraftKings]

  • 6:00pm cst: Old Dominion Monarchs vs. Troy Trojans -4; Total 146.5

Troy loves to play fast and presses almost more than anyone in the country. The Trojans can also shoot the three. Old Dominion is not a very good basketball team so I am not too sure why the spread is so short. It’s a conference game and you never know what will happen with Sun Belt officiating in my experience. I like this spot for Troy with a short number.

Pick: Troy -4 (-110) [via DraftKings]

  • 7:00pm cst: Memphis Tigers -9.5 vs. Tulsa Golden Hurricanes; Total 153

This should be a great game to kick off American Conference play. Memphis has a strong team this season without any drama, which I think has helped them. Tulsa has a great defense and they should be able to matchup well against Memphis in every category. Tulsa has played Memphis tough and this is the best they’ve had in some time. I am expecting a big game from the Golden Hurricanes. Memphis has SMU on deck on Sunday so they might be looking ahead a bit.

Pick: Tulsa +9.5 (-110) [via DraftKings]

  • 8:00pm cst: Oregon Ducks vs. Washington Huskies -4.5; Total 154

Oregon is off to a nice 2-0 start while Washington is 0-2. Oregon is still missing their best players but they haven’t played all season. The Huskies have played close in this game but that was as underdogs. Dana Altman has these Ducks on the right path even with the injuries, as y’all may remember I liked Oregon to have a shot to win the title at full health. This should be a good game. I just do not think Washington should be laying 4.5 - this should be 3.5 or 4.

Pick: Oregon +4.5 (-110) [via DraftKings]

  • 8:30pm cst: Colorado Buffaloes vs. Arizona Wildcats -12.5; Total 159

The Colorado Buffaloes are leading the Pac-12 and they face their toughest test tonight on the road against Arizona. The Wildcats will be coming off a bad loss to Stanford. Colorado has a great offense this game will more than likely turn into a track meet. Like we talked about yesterday, these Pac-12 teams are a little unpredictable still. The Buffs had worse teams against much better Arizona sides that didn’t get beat by more than 12 points on the road. I think this Colorado team can keep pace.

Pick: Colorado +12.5 (-110) [via DraftKings]

  • 10:00pm cst: Utah Utes vs. Arizona State Sun Devils +6; Total 146

This is not a very good Arizona State team but they play defense for 40 minutes straight. The ASU offense is what holds back this team. Utah has a pretty strong team but they struggle against tough defense. If the Sun Devils can force enough turnovers to create their offense they not only can stay within this number but possibly win. Utah has Arizona on deck as a look ahead as well.

Pick: Arizona State +6 (-108) [via DraftKings]
