  • 6:30pm cst: Louisville Cardinals -3 vs. North Carolina State Wolfpack; Total 56

This is a solid Friday night ACC matchup with the high powered Louisville offense taking on the North Carolina State Wolfpack. I am not very high on NC State and QB Brennan Armstrong. They have been in some tight matchups against not the best competition. Louisville has yet to lose and is red hot with new head coach Jeff Brohm. Quarterback Jack Plummer has also been great for Louisville. I do not think NC State has the defense to slow this team down. They struggled against Virginia and they are nowhere near as good as Louisville. If Louisville does not turn the ball over I do not see them having an issue here. NC State will not be able to keep up in a shootout so they will want to run the ball and eat up as much clock as possible.

Pick: Louisville -3 (-118) [via DraftKings]

  • 8:00pm cst: Louisiana Tech Bulldogs vs. UTEP Miners -1; Total 50.5

A matchup of two team that are not off to great starts. UTEP starting quarterback Gavin Hardison looks to be questionable tonight. LaTech looks to be in the same boat so Turner should get the start. UTEP has been getting their teeth kicked in and I have a feeling they will be looking forward to that BYE week after this game. I want to fade UTEP in this one. They are just in a bad place right now.

Pick: Louisiana Tech +1 (-110) [via DraftKings]

  • 8:00pm cst: Utah Utes vs. Oregon State Beavers -4.5; Total 44

Not many people like Utah’s offense because they struggle to score but they have such a great defense. I do not think Cam Rising is getting the start here and the line suggests that. I made this number three with Utah being on the road. The Oregon State pass defense is susceptible to being beat and if Utah can make enough plays I believe they can keep this game close. Utah will start QB Nate Johnson who is a true freshman and very green. Beavers are off a shootout loss to Wazzu and should be up and ready for this game. Anyone who took the Beavers at -3 or better should be sitting pretty. At 4.5 I like Utah to grind this game out with their defense, which will be the best OSU has seen all year.

Pick: Utah +4.5 (-110) [via DraftKings]

  • 9:15pm cst: Cincinnati Bearcats vs. BYU Cougars -1; Total 49.5

We have a great battle of two of the Big 12’s newest members who are off to surprising starts. The Cincinnati offense was finally slowed down by the Oklahoma defense last week and BYU met their match with the Kansas Jayhawks. Now, BYU will be at home in a night game for its Big 12 debut. Huge game. Cincinnati opened up as a favorite and I was shocked. The line has now changed and is a bit more realistic. This BYU offense is better than I expected with Keaton Slovis and the defense is very good. The Kansas offense eventually ran away but I rate the Jayhawks offense as one of the best in the country. That is not Cinci. BYU has a couple NFL linebackers like Ben Bywater who will be flying around the field in this one. I really like BYU in this one as the more well rounded and defensive team.

Pick: BYU -1 (-110) [via DraftKings]
