College Football Record: 84-89-8 . Betting 1 Unit to Win X.
11:00am cst: Louisville Cardinals -1 vs. Miami Hurricanes; Total 46.5
Louisville has been flying high this season without much attention. Miami has let down many fans with their poor performance. I can’t recall the last time Miami played well. Perhaps against Clemson? This spread is off. I’m betting on the team with the superior coach, offense, and defense. And the quarterback, of course.
Pick: Louisville -1 (-110) [via DraftKings]
11:00am cst: SMU Mustangs -9 vs. Memphis Tigers; Total 64.5
This is an AAC semifinal showdown. The winner of this game will probably advance to the AAC championship game against either Tulane or UTSA. SMU has been impressive all season against every opponent not in the Big 12. Something will break in this one. SMU has a track record of falling to Memphis. Memphis has always been their hurdle in the conference. Memphis has not covered a game at home this season. In a fierce rivalry game, this should be a tight one. SMU has their best defense in recent memory, but like I said, anything is possible in a rivalry game, especially one that has a conference crown on the line. I believe SMU should be favored by 3 or 4 points.
Pick: Memphis +9 (-110) [via DraftKings]
1:30pm cst: Utah Utes vs. Arizona Wildcats -1; Total 47
This is a thrilling Pac 12 matchup. Arizona is red-hot and the Utes have just lost a nail-biter to the Washington Huskies, ending their hopes of a Pac 12 championship. Arizona is on a roll led by freshman quarterback Noah Fifita, who I think very highly of. They also depend on their defense, which had a rare slip-up against Colorado. This is a toss-up game, but I favor the motivated home team here.
Pick: Arizona -1.5 (-108) [via DraftKings]
2:00pm cst: Duke Blue Devils -3 vs. Virginia Cavaliers; Total 45.5
Duke has had a roller-coaster season. Quarterback Riley Leonard is done for the year as well. Now, it’s not exactly senior day for the Cavaliers, but I still expect a spirited performance from a team that has shown some grit all season. We don’t know who will be under center for Virginia due to Muskett’s injury, but it won’t matter because the rookie can step in and throw it. I’ll bite the bullet and take the home underdog here, who I believe can win the game.
Pick Virginia +3 (-112) [via DraftKings]
2:30pm cst: UCLA Bruins vs. USC Trojans -5; Total 63.5
This is probably the final game of Caleb Williams’ college career. It may not have worked out as he hoped, but he will likely be the first quarterback drafted in the NFL this spring. Will the Trojans end the season on a positive note? Are the rumors accurate that this is Chip Kelly’s last game as the head coach of UCLA? There are many storylines today. One of them is the UCLA defense, which has a formidable pass rush. This should bother Williams in the pocket. If UCLA can prevent turnovers and trust their defense, I believe they can win or at least make this game competitive.
Pick: UCLA +5 (-112) [via DraftKings]
2:30pm cst: North Carolina State Wolfpack vs. Virginia Tech Hokies -2.5; Total 41
This is a pure situational spot for me. NCST has been hot lately but so has Virginia Tech. VaTech is one win away from clinching a bowl game birth in I do not know how many years. They have been playing well as of late and they also have a great historical track record against the Pack. I am backing a hungry team looking to finish the season on a high note.
Pick: Virginia Tech -2.5 (-112) [via DraftKings]
3:00pm cst: Oregon Ducks -24.5 vs. Arizona State Sun Devils; Total 53.5
Do the Arizona State Sun Devils have another surprise in store today? The Sun Devils make games very ugly and with Oregon having Oregon State and a possible Pac 12 championship game on their mind will they be locked in for this game? ASU has been great to us this season and I think it is time to back one of the most ridiculous running backs you will every see: Cam Skattebo. He gets stronger with every carry and the harder he gets hit the better he does. It is a sight to see. Let’s get a little kinky here and back this stinky home dog.
Pick: Arizona State +24.5 (-110) [via DraftKings]
3:00pm cst: New Mexico State Aggies vs. Auburn Tigers -26; Total 48
We have backed the gunslinger Diego Pavia all season and he has come up aces. Now he faces his toughest test against an SEC defense and the Auburn Tigers. Probably a good of a time as any to fade NMSU. Not so fast! Auburn will be looking forward to the only game that matters to redeem their bad season and that is against Alabama in the Iron Bowl. I do not rate Auburn very highly so if New Mexico State can score some touchdowns and their defense force a turnover I think they will be very much in this game. It’s worth a shot here. Throw some on the moneyline if you really want to get kinky.
Pick: New Mexico State +26 (-110) [via DraftKings]
4:00pm cst: UCF Knights vs. Texas Tech Red Raiders -2.5; Total 59.5
Normally one would think this is a look ahead spot for Tech with a game against the Longhorns on deck and I would mostly agree. Except it is senior day for the mighty Red Raiders of Lubbock who are covered with upperclassmen. UCF is coming off a dominating win against Oklahoma State and maybe flying a little too close to the sun coming into the 806. This number is low enough to make me go back to the Red Raider well who has not lost a game for us ATS.
Pick: Texas Tech -2.5 (-112) [via DraftKings]
6:00pm cst: Kansas State Wildcats -10 vs. Kansas Jayhawks; Total 57.5
Throw the pleasantries out the window! We have the Sunflower showdown tonight! Kanas State is as hot as can be. Kansas is off a disappointed loss at home to Texas Tech. It appears Kansas is at full health but you really never know until the game actually starts. I feel this is too many points with Kansas State having Iowa State on deck. Kansas has not shown up in this game lately but I think they will to try and revive their season.
Pick: Kansas +10 (-112) [via DraftKings]
6:30pm cst: Washington Huskies vs. Oregon State Beavers -1.5; Total 62
One of the biggest games of the night! Will Washington be able to hold onto their undefeated record with hopes of a college football playoff bid? Or will the Beavers of Oregon State have a little surprise for them tonight in Corvallis? I really like the defense for Oregon State as well as the offensive line. Whichever team forces the turnovers will win because there will be some. That is why I am backing the Beavers here.
Pick: Oregon State -1.5 (-110) [via DraftKings]
9:30pm cst: San Diego State Aztecs vs. San Jose State Spartans -15; Total 48
The legendary San Diego State head coach Brady Hoke announced this week to his team that he will be retiring this year. I think San Diego State has covered every game except for one for us this season. I am hoping this Aztecs defense makes this a nasty game. San Jose State will probably riding a bit too high after they killed Fresno State last weekend. Go Aztecs!
Pick: San Diego State +15 (-110) [via DraftKings]
