Both of these teams will be playing on a short week after both played last Thursday. MTSU has been in rough shape all season, and Jax State has been the opposite. I am not sure why MTSU is favored here. It is easy to fade the 'Cocks after their performance against Sam Houston State, except for the last drive of the game. Jax State has looked great for its first season in the CUSA. I like their defense and if they can cut out the turnovers, they should be able to put together a winning game tonight. I expect MTSU to show up tonight, but favored? I can’t. Jax State has the defense and running game to win this.

• 8:00pm cst: Florida International Panthers vs. New Mexico State Aggies -6.5; Total 49

What a world we live in. New Mexico State is favored by 6.5 against a capable Florida International team. The Panthers are not very good but neither is NMSU and to be laying nearly a TD? FIU ranks near the bottom in offense and defense but seem to be a cover machine on anything less than 7 points. FIU is 3-1 and still fighting for a bowl game appearance. It is still unclear who will start for NMSU due to disciplinary issues with QB Diego Paiva. Not clear about his practice time either. This is still a number play to me. This should be no higher than 3 or 4 for NMSU.
